AIM Messaging

Talk about anything in here.

cbwing, if there IS a way of doing 'nicknames' on AIM please do tell ;) Right now I just keep a file called 'CAA buddies.txt' that has the CAA sn of everyone I've added to my buddy list, and a couple of words to describe their most important qualities or traits. Example: "male"

I went to the CAA chat zone 1 time, and no offense to shooby or whoever programmed it, but I found it very slow and flickery and hard to figure out. and empty.

I think it would almost be better to just make AIM chat rooms with CAA members :D Is there a way to enter a chatroom uninvited? If so I think that would be a reall y cool idea, and probably more popular than any java-based program.

You can blame the Java telnet client for that. Try using regular old Telnet to access it (there's instructions on the page).

I don't always post my IM names, because I always feel weird if someone IMed me out of the blue. It helps if I've talked to them a little bit on the boards through replies in conversations that I wouldn't mind talking to, but if I have never really talked to them before, I'm like: uhh... hi.

CCA is probably the one board I don't mind putting up that kind of information. You are welcome to IM me if you want. ^^

I'm leaving CAA perminantly. i've wanted to do this for a long time but I've never gathered the courage to let go.

I will NEVER respond to IM's unless:

A: The sender identifies themself

B: They've been around CAA long enough to where I feel I know a little about them. There are certain people here who I would respond to and certain people I wouldn't. If I don't respond and you REALLY want to contact me, do so via PM's.

I prefer getting to know the person first. Usually it starts with PMing.

Personally, I hate chatting systems and only do it if it's absolutely necessary. I got my AIM because my professor required it from me. I also have MSN but I don't think I even included the info on my profile. heh.
