Anyone else here like the band "The Wedding?"

They have some amazingly catchy tunes and their new CD, Polarity is now out as well.

I've been listening to "Say Your Prayers" alot....so much that I actually figured out the main chords of the song on the piano...but I do that with most songs...though, I guess that signifys that I really like a song...

I ended up borrowing the album from my friend instead of buying it.
It's a decent album.

I am curious of the difference of the sound they maintained throughout their debut, but I can't find a place on the internet that I can listen to it.

They might have something on their myspace. I'm not really sure. I haven't checked.

Nope, it's all off Polarity.

How is their first album?
What other band could you compare it to?

Their first album could be compared to "Chroma" By Cartel. It was a poppy punk album. I haven't heard the whole thing but that's the impression I got from the first few tracks that I heard. Oh and Dincht, you can actually find their first CD at WalMart sometimes.

I found a place I can hear samples of their old stuff.

Very different.
Not sure if it's better.

Just got their new album from the library....and I have finally found my answer to Hawk Nelson and Relient K...

What I mean by that is that though I like some of the stuff from those two bands, I've really been looking for something with the same sound, but maybe more edgier and less random.....and now that I've found "The Wedding," that search is at an end...

There's something I like about Relient K, but not Hawk Nelson.

Polarity definitely destroys every release from both.

I don't think Polarity is anywhere near The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek or Mmhmm...but it annihilates anything Hawk Nelson has put out or is going to put out for the next 10 years.

I probably should have just said "destroyed" in reference to Hawk Nelson because Relient K has some really good albums out.

My bad.
I just really hate Hawk Nelson.
It's a cookie-cutter Simple Plan.

The samples I've heard of The Wedding sound pretty boringly similar to Hawk Nelson, Stellar Kart, and Relient K.

But they did do a song called "Death by Xanga." So they get points for that.

The Wedding's new stuff is a lot more ACTUAL punk rock and not pop punk. The musical influences in it are all over the place. It's actually great.

And yeah, Tom........Hawk Nelson gets on my nerves, too. Every time I see kids running around with "Hawk Nelson is my friend" t-shirts, I want to run up to them and yell "THEY RUINED 'JUST WHAT I NEEDED' BY THE CARS!!! THEY ARE NOBODY'S FRIEND!!!"

Let's not make this a Hawk Nelson flame thread considering this forum has it's share of Hawk Nelson fanGIRLS.

Yeah, The Wedding is a good mixture of different genres.
The only true song I would consider punk is Track 3 (The title escapes me).

If it's from Polarity then I think it's "Staring at the Light"...Or it's "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead..."

Also, has anyone listened to the Arkansas tribute song at the very end of "Fireworks..."? You won't here it untill 8:00 (on the track...not pm or am)...
It's hilarious....
