AX-Meeting date and time: Saturday around 4:30~5:00 P.M

Talk about anything in here.

Postby Jaltus-bot » Wed Jun 20, 2007 4:43 pm

I have a friend's baby shower on Saturday. I have not yet worked, so I am leaving Friday open for temp work right now. I will be there on Sunday when Mechana is there.

D: i can try...XD; i'll just...uh...sneak over with her not knowing where we're headed. >_>; but she really does hate being in huge groups...

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close[/color]

Just gauge yourself and don't drive shortly afterwards.

Frankly I hope wherever we're going is walking distance away from the convcen for the aforementioned reason.

Apparently there's a place with a lot of restaurants across the street from the convention center. I can't speak to the accuracy of that, though. The last time I was at the Long Beach convention center was for my first AX, and that was a good 5 years ago. o_O;

I checked for restaurants around the nearby hotels and they all seem to have quite a list. :x I can't find a list of restaurants surrounding the convention center itself, though.

Saturday meet at around 4:30~5:00 P.M.

Problem is that they'll most likely be insanely crowded due to their close location.

I would like to note that people can find the clump(s) of CAA members before the meetup time or on different days if they are interested in doing so.

I should be available for the meetup on Saturday.

Would I be correct in assuming that the plan is to call everyone with the meeting spot once the time draws near?

Sure sounds like it. To anyone who's coming, feel free to give me a buzz anytime during Friday and Saturday. I know the big meeting is Saturday afternoon, but I'd love to meet up with you beforehand.

There are two In-n-Out Burgers not very far away from the convention center. Out-of-staters had better go there at least once.

Maybe so, but all you people need exposure to some good Korean BBQ.

I will go if I for sure have a ride... Here's my thing: I know a few CAA people go to Cal-state and Cal-poly pomona, so I can take a metrolink to pomona if someone can pick me up from the station. That is, if my first ride doesn't come through.

lol nope. It's in KTown of LA. I'm not gonna let you all settle for second best at some shoddy... modernized... ultra-hip crap place (Unless I absolutely have to). The only Kalbi places that are worth going are the ones with a tabletop grill, waitresses that suck at speaking English, a little bit ghetto-looking, filled with old men who like to drink Soju, and you leave with your clothes reeking of Grill-Smoke and meat (So don't wear cosplay outfits or any good clothing when eating there).
