I might add, too, that it's not wrong to point things out. However, it should be done in private (or by all those effected) with a cool head and done to encourage growth. That is, if you are pointing things out in order to signal needed change, not to cause hurt. I know it is tough, though. I have excommunicated friends in the past, and before I knew it, it was too late to find them and rekindle the friendship. Just don't fall into the blame game. It's no good for either party. (That includes blaming yourself, too.) I pray that everything work out for the best.
