Well Kenchii, not ALL movies are focused on fighting. Ah! My Goddess IS a love story, so of course love "overrules" most of it.

Perhaps you could elucidate somewhat.

Incidentally, I'm working on a review of the OAVs and I'll post that in the near future. I'm sure Gypsy or I will get to the Adventures of Mini Goddesses at some point as well, for those who are curious about that series too.

I liked the OVA's more than the movie, but it was fine.

Great review, Gypsy. You saw exactly what I saw when I first watched the movie. At first, I was worried about the whole goddess concept, but found their view of heaven so fantastical, that it didn't bother me. It's a really sweet series and I like how they developed the relationship between Belldandy and Kei- can't remember his name, *heh, age*. Belldandy is also one of my favorite female characters in anime, she's just sooooo nice.

I have the soundtrack too, and it is a really nice OST. ^_^ Two thumbs up on your review.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

No I have not... I know that many of the characters and situations that fans disucss are manga only... I'd just never been a big manga reader.

Worst movie ever created. Anyways, I do happen to have the DVD in mint condition, and really REALLY want to get rid of it fast, (it makes me VERY sick) anyone willing to buy it in perfect condition for $15.00 PM me. (I am willing to auction)

I have not seen the movie, therefore I have no possible bias toward it, however, I do find your review to be biased and rather disreputable, Kenchii. Not to mention you have been incredibly rude to those who do like the movie and don't expect a movie to be based entirely on violence. I think that some people tend to forget that their view of a movie is only their opinion, not the way things are.

While I would have no way of knowing that, it seems like a lot of the other members saw it. :shady:

I love this series! I started with the manga then the movie and now the OVA and mini goddess series too. I was like Chloe and a bit skeptical of the goddess thing, but they did it very well in not being blasphemous or anything. Belldandy is my favorite character too! She is so kind a gentle . . . I just thought, if an anime character could be the Proverbs 31 woman, Bell would be it! One of the best animes I have seen! Sweet story and characters, can't wait for more manga! ^_^

I'm going to try to get a thread and review posted for the OAVs in a day or two.

Okay, your *wish* (heheheh) is my command. There is now a review (finally! phew) of the OAV series, and one on Mini-Goddess is forthcoming (I just have to finish working on it).

You know, I forgot to mention this, but the first MG episode is on the movie DVD as a bonus extra to give viewers a taste of the series. It's actually one of the better ones.

I rather liked the whole series. I just wish there were more to the OAVs -- but right now I'm giggling helplessly to another Gan-chan pratfall, so excuse me for a sec. ^_^

I'm looking forward very much to the new TV series in production. With the same crew that did the movie it's going to be top notch.
