appropriate rock/heavy metal bands (again)

For all the music-lovers out there, this is your place to swap lyrics, talk about new bands and jazz about concerts. All things related to the audio world belong here.

This is something that I agree with you wholeheartedly on Eric. And as far as the compositional stuff honestly metal and hardcore is generally more complex than the majority of pop and other such stuff.

I agree with you big time.

Also, I like System of a Down, but they are pretty inappropriate. Any christian metal bands that sound like them?

Atreyu and Mushroomhead are both awful. They're far from appropriate and terrible, musically.

Yeah. I figured they'd be inappropriate. And, as is the case with a pretty good bit of metal bands, I would've figured that there playing would've been pretty bad.

They're not really even real metal. Atreyu is like hardcore-screamo-whatever and Mushroomhead is like....oh, I'm loathe to say it...nu-metal like Slipknot.

Listen to He Is Legend. Their new CD has some pretty rough imagery but no bad language or anything. Otherwise, they are perfectly clean. You'll like them.

Yeah it was a gooder^^ Everytime I browse through these topics, I learn about, 10 different genres to my vocab, most of which are just fusions of names stuck together... We must eliminate at least 50 of those names to slim it down... you know, going back to the basic terms.

As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, Mortal Treason, Skillet's Collide album, Atra, Blessed By A Broken Heart, The Showdown, Demise of Eros, Demon Hunter, DragonForce, Killswitch Engage, Norma Jean, Nodes of Ranvier, Project 86, Beanbag, Sinai Beach, Staple, (huffhuffhuffhuffwheeze), Tourniquet, Training For Utopia, Becoming The Archetype, blindside, Kingston Falls, and yes, Underoath. Not all metal bands, but all have their little niches in your collection to fill.

Tourniquet is really good, they just never release new stuff because their drummer is usually in Africa collecting butterflies. No, really. Africa.

But anyway, glad you found some stuff you liked.

They don't.

They are definitely not Satanic or anti-Christian or anything, but I haven't read their lyrics to see if there's any swearing. You should be able to look up lyrics for them at Metal Archives.

Alot of Power Metal is fairly apropriate.Try Gamma Ray and Blind Guardian if your into that stuff. Also Some of Death's later albums have fairly good lyrics and speak of real isues as opossed to there first cd(Sream Bloody Gore). If you want some real Metal thats "christian" Vengeance Rising,Believer,Seventh Angel,Crimson Moonlight,Renacent, etc. area good. Some other bands that have decent lyrics are:
Iron Miaden(get Powerslave and Peice of Mind)
Megadeth(on certain albums; besides take no prisoners Rust In Peace is pretty clean)
Opeth(if you dont mind dark lyrics)
etc.

Also these go by cleaness of language mostly but none of ther lyrics are very bad(on the albums i mentioned)

I know they weren't, but I think I try to get my dad to let me buy my CDs at Wal-Mart, because they're edited.
