My dad recently returned from some mission work in Ethiopia, living with the Afari. Since my birthday was around the same time, he brought back a nifty souvenir: two Afari machetes, one of each of us.

You're not going to find "Made in Taiwan" embedded into the leather; this isn't factory-made. Genuine tribal weaponry. All Afari males carry one with them at all times. Personally, I keep it by my desk, because the people who live in my dorm are fond of throwing knives down the hall, and it annoys me, so the next time...

Anyway, I thought it was cool, so I decided to share. If this doesn't belong here, a Mod is free to move it.

So freakin' cool! I think the best I can claim is a toy scimitar I got from a friend of the family when he died. It was one of his favorite toys as a kid. His grandma brought it back for him from Brazil. It is a life sized scimitar made almost entirely of some kind of tin/pewter metal. It's heavy. I think I could actually probably take a head with it. Or cause severe damage.

PFFT. What 'chu talkin' 'bout? The pen is AWESOME. Look what that one girl did in the first episode of Elfen Lied! DX

And now in all seriousness, that is SO COOL. I want it; to brave the wilds of the hallways of my highschool. :3 that'll teach them to stand like that in the middle of the halls, making out... e.e...give me the machete...

Learn to draw a proper transmutation circle. Then, you'll like the pen a lot more.

However, that is indeed an awesome gift.

If you're sick of the knife-throwing, learn to throw axes. Then engrave your name and room number on each one.

Ditto, that is really a cool keepsake, not to mention a good crime deterrent.

Congrats on that & your B-day too!
