Scrapped Princess box set!!

Postby KBMaster » Tue Mar 13, 2007 8:08 pm

I was going to buy the entire scrapped princess series for $30 from toysnjoys.net when I realized it was a bootleg(I saw in a thread how to recognize a bootleg and realized my inuyasha box set is one.... oops)! Stupid me for not realizing it sooner! I was really sad because I knew it would take me months to save up for each individual dvd, and then i went to amazon to see how much each one was and I found this!

http://www.amazon.com/Scrapped-Princess-Legends-Complete-Collection/dp/B000M5KA0I/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-2705621-4293730?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1173841201&sr=8-1

I am sooooo getting this when i can afford it! I wonder what extras it has. :P

Now if only they would make one for Full Metal Alchemist...(also realized the 70 dollar boxset from TNJ was a bootleg >_<)

Hey wow I'm getting that too. (Actually it's been shipped to me as I type this.) That's also the exacpt same price I payed at a different place (go Amazon!).

I'm gonna guess though that there aren't any extras/bonus features. Usually when they make box sets they rip out all the extras other then trailers. :\ Although this is Anime Legends we are talking about not ADV so who knows? I'll let you know once I have it though for sure.

You can still find good non-Bootlegged boxsets under $30 if you look in the right places. My Shrine of the Morning Mist boxset only cost me a total of $29.96 and yes it is legit as I got it from Rightstuf.

Hey, only 37 plus shipping from Amazon? If I ever have money again, I'm definitely looking into that. XD The best way to watch anime is through buying the entire series in thinpak, I've found. XD Thanks for pointing that out! :D

Oh, finally! I've been waiting for ages to buy this series. This is definitely my next anime purchase. Thanks for the information!!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Awesome! I wanted to see this. I'll probably get this when I have the moolah. (Of course, I'm also looking at the Outlaw Star and Full Metal Panic box sets.)

Too bad about the bootleg. I've been fooled by those before. I'm more careful now, though. Thankfully, the real anime companies have been coming out with better deals such as this.

Hey everyone! Just thought I would let you know that there are pretty much NO bonus features on this thing. (Well it's a thinpak so that's to be expected.) I just got mine in the mail today, and well I haven't had a chance to watch it, according to the back the "DVD extras" are textless openings and endings. So don't buy this if you are expecting to get all kinds of extra bonus stuff.

Oh and for some random info according to the box it's for ages 13 and up. :)

XD Fine by me. Extras generally tend to bore me, and buying anime with the full extra features is too expensive anyways. XD Now, all I need is to come up with the money to pay for the bare-bones version. XD

Don't worry, the individual discs didn't have anything either! If I woulda known I would've of waited. But yeah, Scrapped Princess, good bang for your buck. Scores pretty decent marks across the bored, and its a great one to watch with friends as its chock full of cool of stuff but nothing to make anyone squeam.

With an amazing dub, too -- for those so inclined.
Embraced by a gentle breeze, my heart breaks as I think of you.
All alone at the top of the hill, I watch as the seasons go by.
--
Wishing for courage softly, I pray.
There's no going back now, to those tender days when you held me in your arms.

Yeah, the dub was pretty good. The core three of Shannon, Winnia and Rachel were really great, especially Rachel I think, though anything with Crispin Freeman in it is bound to have something good.

Humm... donno. XD I got it from Animenation though and I think the big anime stores release stuff before the normal stores like Amazon.com.

In terms of extras, now that I think about it Bandai is not like ADV where they pile on the extras for the normal discs and then take them all off for the thinpak. That is kind of wierd though that they didn't have ANY extras on the normal DVDs. Well they did have those character models you could get with them though...

Actually personally I wasn't a fan of the dub. Pacifica sounded way to old while Raquel sounded way too young. The voice acting in terms of acting ability was excellent. In term of being the right voices for the characters though I didn't like it that much. But then again I have watch the sub more then once and I did a fandub of part of the first episode so I'm probably biased.

Really? I'm pretty critical of dubs so I usually don't watch them unless I get a feel its gonna be good. I find it funny you thought of Pacifica as too old cause I figured you were gonna say to young and whiny. While Raquel I thought sounded sorta've like a young mother, which worked for me cause she was taking care of Pacifica. Different strokes I guess.......... :P
