I'm pretty sure, because right now I hear squeaking behind this pile in my basement. HELP. My mom HATES mice, and this has happened before. DX

The first time, we tried to borrow the neighbor's cat, but it wouldn't come into our house. XD

They've got these new glue traps for catching mice, since being "Humane" is a big deal nowadays. Works wonders, or so I understand.

You can get a live trap for mice. It allows them to get in but not to get out.
In a way if a mouse knows there is another mouse in it plus food also it wants in with the other mouse.

Generally, even if the mice can steal the peanut butter off the traps, if you reduce the amount of peanut butter, eventually they will get in close enough to catch them. Glue traps are supposed to work as well, though I have no experience. If that doesn't work...my uncle had a solution to a rat problem involving mixing quick-set cement with peanut butter (or setting out poison, of course.) Not friendly, but you are trying to exterminate the pests, and they are a health hazard. Good luck!

I like the grenade trick. Just chuck one down the mouse hole. "I had declared war on rats." The only problem is the dang rats come back with Desert Eagles.

Yes, that's a Max Payne reference.

I second the 'get a cat' option. They have side benefits. =p

I have documented some "home grown" methods of pest control. Perhaps you may like to get some ideas from them.

Disclaimer and Warning: I have been unable to verify most of the methods, so there is a good chance some of them are factually inaccurate / simply do not work. Also, the methods described are considered gruesome to some people, so if you are feeling squeamish, please give the page a miss.

Based on the noises that come from my attic at night, we've got potentially worse (bigger) than rats in our house. Haven't been able to actually catch the suckers yet though.

We had a mice problem once when we were living in the country. The solution was we had the cats come in.
