Best Superbowl Ad

Postby rocklobster » Mon Feb 05, 2007 6:35 am

Okay, so who won in the ad war this year. My votes go to:
1. BLockbuster's pets trying to get online
2. The Coca-Cola fantasy vending machine
3. The Coca-Cola GTA parody

The first Doritos commercial was cute (the girl and guy one, fan-made). The Coca-Cola spots rocklobster mentioned were both from last year's Superbowl so I didn't like them at all (cause they weren't new, but recycled). The pets trying to get online was cute, as well as the Taco Bell lions. Just cause the one couldn't say "carne" with the right accent. Well, I thought it was cute anyway. XD

That's what I get for missing out on the last one. I didn't know those were old.

Oh man. I loved some of the commercials last night (in fact, I didn't pay attention until they came on XD).

Budweiser's crab god; rock, paper, scissors
GM's suicidal robot
Nationwide's jab at Kevin Federline (XD)
Career Builders had GREAT commercials. XD
The Doritos commercial with the guy and the girl

I'm probably forgetting some of them, but the ones I mentioned were pretty funny, I thought. XD

EDIT: After looking at Ichigo's post, I've remembered the hitchhikers with the beer and the ax/chainsaw. XD That one was great. Also, the foreigners learning how to ask for a Bud Lite in different places in America was funny, too. XD

I absolutely loved the killer hitchhikers one. That was so funny!! XD I also liked the one with all the crying fans, that was pretty funny..... until I remembered I was one of them.... and the first Career Builder one. You know the one where their attacked and their all trying to run away. I thought that was pretty good (though I liked the ones with the chimps better, can't get funnier than monkeys). Finally the crab god was hilarious as well.

The Career Builder ones were great. I also loved the first Bud Light ad (rock paper scissors). The Coca-Cola "GTA" one was good, but it would have been even funnier back when GTA was more popular (no one really cares about that series anymore). The Snickers ad was just... disturbing. Funny, but disturbing.

The ones this year wasn't that funny.

I've seen the GTA Coca Cola one but 1000 times in the movie theatres. I hate how they show commercials in movie theatres now. -_-

I liked the "Axe Bud Light" one, but that "Snickers" one was just plain disgusting.

I miss last year's Emerald's Nuts commercial.
I still can't believe it's been a whole 365 days since I began my eternal Vault addiction. XD

The commercials are also available on YouTube, if you prefer that avenue. Myself, I skipped most of the game and watched them there in a few minutes.

Anyway, I know Coca Cola's GTA commercial isn't new but I still think it was one of the funniest. GM's suicidal robot wins points for originality and the Career Builder ones were good fun.

I loved Fist Bump, Coke's GTA parody, and the sentai parody. I was the only one who got the sentai parody when we watched the game.

We don't have to worry about that ad anymore. They got so many complaints about the Snickers ad, that the ad has been pulled from TV and from Snickers web site.

On the Snickers website, they had a place where you could vote for your favorite version. There was the chest hair one, one where an old dude came up and said, "Is there room for three on that love boat?", there was one where they drank motor oil and antifreeze, and in the last one one guy picked up a wrench and nailed the other guy with it, and the second guy bashed the first guy's head in with the car hood.

The motor oil one was my favorite.

1. Taco Bell Lions (couldn't roll the 'r' - classic!)
2. Federline
3. Crab god

Moderately good commercials this year. The Colts had the game from the beginning, and the score was hardly an indicator. I hope that the weather was affecting the Bears performance, or something...

I say they cancel the Superbowl and have a three-hour show with no interruptions that is an homage to all the great Super Bowl ads, past and present. Oh yes. Football? Who needs football?

If they wanted to keep the sports feel they could just run football bloopers instead.

mitsuki lover wrote:Next year let's skip the Superbowl and just have the ads!

I intend to do precisely that. With all of them available online I no longer have any need to occupy myself between commercial breaks.

There have been shows dedicated just to the history of Super Bowl ads.
