What? I'm small, so maybe I can't handle as much coffee as you without dying, but I ish addicted. Didn't get my coffee yesterday, got a migraine, and ended up consuming three cokes and two more cups of coffee within the span of a couple hours before midnight...

I used to drink 64+ ounces of caffeinated soda every day when I was younger. I've been caffeine dependent for years, Mith. o_O

By the way, you're crazy. 7-8cups? Good grief! :wow!:

You know migraines are part of the withdrawal symptoms.

I'd highly recommend getting yourself off caffeine. I don't drink much caffeine, so I'm a happy child =D

Oh...and another thing: empty stomach + coffee = stomachache. If you don't eat breakfast, coffee may not be a good idea, 'specially if you like it kind of strong.


OH!! so THATS why I started feeling crappy on Wednesday when I drank Coffee!! I didn't eat food! XDDD wow! I thought that was the reason..

About coffee and cramps. I have read that caffine (including chocolate and soda) as well as carbohydrates seriously make that first day the worst. So I avoid that stuff as much as possible.

HAHA you think you are an addict, Q, Mith? MY DAD IS AN ADDICT. He loves STRONG coffee...and I am not talking the extra spoon full. I used to make coffee for him. He put at LEAST a Ladel and a Half in his coffee pot. Now, he has cut back on the amount of grounds because...well.. we have a french Press coffee pot. Bassically what you do is pour the grounds directly into the pot and pour water into it, let it soak and then pus this thing down that takes the grounds out of the liquid. Yeah.. That is STONGER coffee than he used to drink. AND he drinks at least 2 of those a day, and I am not even counting the stuff he drinks at work! I am not even including the amount of sodas he drinks in a day...

I always tell him. "Dad, you should drink more water." He simply smiles and holds up his coffee, or soda and is like "This has water in it."

He is starting to drink more hot tea now.. XD I am so proud of him. I drink hot tea more than I drink coffee.. But I am my father's daughter and when it doesn't affect me badly I love coffee. Especially with the right amont of flavor or creamer...mmm...

I used to steal unattended coffee when I was six (I'm 6'2", so another strike against the myth), but now I can't even stand the smell of the stuff, blarg. However, I'm quite addicted to soda/caffeine. If I'm working hard on something late at night, I tend to drain around 4 liters in a sitting (usually have already had 64 ounces that day). After experimentation I've found that caffeine doesn't noticably affect me, but sugar boosts my pulse way up and makes my skin crawl (If I eat something too rich I won't sleep).

I drink coffee once in a while when I really need to stay awake (or feel in the mood for coffee, which is seldom), usually adulterated with plenty of cream and sugar. Tea, however, I drink almost every day, and I do find that forgoing a cup of tea makes my mornings a little slower and less pleasant. As for the effects of caffeine on me...well, I can drink the caffeine equivalent of a cup or two of coffee before things begin to get strange. Over that and I begin to get really talkative, hyper, and quirky, which then degrades into a rather unpleasant feeling as I come off the caffeine high (though eating food helps offset this). Under the unpleasant level of caffeine I simply become more relaxed and talkative (sometimes very talkative), with a pleasant feeling of well being. However, I really can't touch caffeine about three to four hours before I go to sleep, otherwise I start to have trouble getting to sleep and usually have very odd dreams.

So my suggestion would be to just drink a bit of caffeine, enough that it doesn't trigger the withdrawal symptoms. If you experiment, you probably can find the right amount of caffeine to make you feel better without the unpleasant crash after your buzz wears off. Somehow this conversation is making me feel like some type of drug maven... :P
