...Vegas!!

Postby Tenshi no Ai » Fri Jan 26, 2007 4:14 pm

Well, now my step sis and her boyfriend are officially getting married this Sept in Vegas, and of course I'm invited. Now, I have a question here to my American neighbours here (and anyone has that mgiht have been), coming from a person who's like, never travelled far at all :/ From BC-Albeta and then JUST passed the border (and I mean JUST) I'm deprived of trips^^

So basically, I'm wondering of what stuff there is to do there, like, entertaining? Not gunna drink nor gamble, of course, even though I wouldn't even be concidered of age down there, and there's of course tons of other shady stuff there too, so I'm trying to look on the more GOOD and positive side on stuff to do... My friend went once to a Spice Girls concert (heh, how can you tell it was a long time ago?) and to a Sigfried and Roy performance (...are they back doing those even?) and according to her it was a "great family vacation spot". But yeah... Even shopping and stuff would be nice, like, actually shopping and not just touristy things that say "Vegas!" and all that :/

So umm... anyone ever been or heard of some good and fun stuff to do there? I'll give bonus points to those who don't use references, such as Wiki^^

The one time I went, most of what I really remember doing is staring at the pretty water show that came on every so often. XD;; Seeing as I went at a time when I had absolutely no money, I spent a lot of time just walking on the strip. There are a lot of free shows to watch around there, but I'm fairly certain they change, so looking on the internet might help you decide if there's anything you'd like to see.

Sorry I'm not a lot of help...I'm sure others will post. >.>

Hmm, well when I went, I just checked out the hotels really, as boring as that might seem. ^^ I wasn't there for all that long, but I saw a few things. If you get a chance, you should definitely check out Circus Circus - there's pretty much an amusement park inside! There's bumper cars, circus shows, laser tag, they've even got a huge roller coaster in there. I didn't get a chance to go inside the Bellagio, but I hear it's very nice (gardens, courtyards, fountains, the whole bit). I spent the most time in the Venetian. It is awesome! Inside, they make it look like you're actually walking down the streets of Venice, there's a bunch of little shops and such along the way and there's a little river in the middle where you can take gondola trips. The stores are quite expensive of course, but I'd still definitely recommend you taking a trip there. ^^ Oh, check out Treasure Island too. I'm not sure if they still do this, but they used to give pirate shows on the ship in front of the hotel. Unfortunately I never got to see it, my mom did when she went to Las Vegas on her own. *grumbles* Anyways, hope this helps ya! ^^

Pirates shows and a circus sure sound like fun^^ I couldn't remember before is Circus Circus was in Vegas or Reno...

Yeha I guess there is a bit of a variety of good clean stuff there to do^^ And alogn with the thoughts of water shows happening, I have a feeling that the pretty neon lights over there will be enough to overstimulate my mind^^

Oh, lol, my ideas of what to do down there is a little different. I'm down there often enough. I live about 2 1/2 hours from there anyway, so I drive down with my friend who likes to visit there every other weekend or so. Sometimes more often, sometimes not, but anyway...we have a few friends down there who are really great wonderful people, who are clean livin' like meh...so we go to movies, watch movies at random apartments, play games, watch anime, banter, plague random guys in the group, go to the occasional show on the strip, etc. It's all fun. ^_^ It's different from what you'd expect in Vegas but it really is a great place to go and just have fun with a few friends lol. *pokes all mah Vegas friendseseses*
