My wife draged me into the tampon isle!!!

Talk about anything in here.

I was surprised it wasn't locked. The last time I saw a thread like this it had been locked on the grounds of perhaps not being particularly uplifting for males. But Hakaii seemed to have been misunderstood, and I wanted to let him know someone understood.
I don't chat about this kind of thing lightly you know, I'm blushing for a reason. That being said, no further comment. Serves me right.

How is he being misunderstood. He's saying it was embarrassing but that he ended up doing it for his wife anyway (and realises it comes with the territory of being a husband and soon-to-be father).

Hakaii wrote:RUN??!!! not a chance in... (excuse me for a few minutes while I go say somethings you not going to want to hear) ok, you call this dangerous?? this is just pestering!! dangerous is not a problem for me. I love this child and will give my life and more for her and my family, so don't expect me to give up any time this century. why is it that when a man makes a statement about something bothering him, people think he's going to do something irresponcible to get out of the situation. just last month, my wife talked to this woman at the MVD and when my wife mentioned me the woman assumed I was her boyfriend and not her husband. (ok, in this day and age, its not uncommon for a woman to be pregnant out of marrage but...) aftermy wife corrected her, she STILL INSISTED ON REFERING TO ME AS A "BOYFRIEND". and went on to state how I'll PROBABLY LEAVE HER JUST BEFORE THE BABY IS BORN!!! *WHAT.....IS.....UP....WITH....THAT!!!!!!*

is it just me, or does it seem like some older women accuse ALL men of being jerks and it seems to have spread in our generation? I don't know, maybe its just me. but really, please tell me if I took that statement wrong (because I wish I did), because the way I took it, that was really insulting.

I was joking. That's all I'm going to say on the matter. Because heaven forbid, that I say something that you think is also insulting.

Anyway. It's not a matter of acceptance or not. It's a matter of it being woman-hygiene products. Some people are just too embarrassed to purchase them.

haha i meant that some of the men on here DO accept women using tampons lol

i didnt mean that they use them... hahahha!

Ehhhh... gonna have to 2nd Puguni's TMI comment. I don't think anyone 'doesn't accept' that women use them, just kinda a personal thing if ya know what I mean?

My advice: It's a fact of life, Hakaii. Get over it. XD Just let your wife buy them for your daughter till she's old enough to drive to the store by herself. Which .... er... is years and years away still! *Realizing the prospect of his baby girl driving was not the smartest thing to say*

Congrats, btw.

but thats the point, I really don't mind buying them for my wife. I just don't want to think about my unborn baby needing them. and don't you guys DARE think about bringing up her dating when she's older. yea, I did emphasize on the akwardness in my initial post (for comical value) and I would have dropped it at that. but people started accusing me of things when the real point of this thing is that I was bothered by the fact that my baby is going through this stuff one day.

You know, I don't think anyone was accusing you of anything...this thread is pretty light-hearted in general. The overall tone here is "joking", so I don't think there's anything to get steamed up over.

I was in the tampon aisle, grabbed a box, and went up to the cashier...she scans it and goes, "These for your wife?" I said, "NOPE! I'm a cross-dresser. Here's your sign."

Not to be totally rude or anything...but Hakaii you're a wuss. Seriously. Hopefully some of the posts on this thread shamed you a bit. If you love someone enough to marry them...you should be able to buy her tampons. And if you think this is coming from some stupid cocky single guy...*laughs* Know this. For the last 3 years I have stocked the female hygene aisle at the store I work at. Suck it up, get used to it, and as a smart girl once told me. "At least you don't need the items"

Be fair, I think he was just having a bit of a joke about it. And it can be more embarrassing for some guys than others. Still you have a point. But I'm sure Hakaii figured that out a long time back.

*laughs* I just don't understand guys that act all "Oh goodness!" over it. I would have no issue what-so-ever buying tampons for someone. It's part of life. I am thankful that the worst I will ever get in life is buying them for someone else. *chuckles* Still I may have to brand the OP a wuss. Till he redeems himself. ;)

Now if you want to think about somthing that will be uncomfortable in your future, think about having to have "The Talk" with your kids one day. Now that I could understand getting a little red-faced over.

Thing is, I honestly don't feel its a "tough" thing. Because despite the image I may have on CAA...I am not Chuck Norris or somthing. I think I would call the whole issue a maturity thing before I would call it a toughness thing.

Being embarrassed is not a maturity thing, but an exposure thing. I don't think being tough has anything to do with it.

*chuckles* Well, I give Hakaii kudos for having the courage to even share this openly. I know quite a few guys who struggle to even mention "that.....tamp...tamp...thingy, you know...*looks uncomfortable*" So, don't feel awful for posting here and ignore some posts. It's an interesting post to have in CAA.

As for buying those...thingies, my dad has never made a fuss about it although I'm not sure about my big brother. I suppose it feels just as awkward as a female buying male underwear or something that begins with 'C'?

Anyway, congratulations on your baby girl! Yes, she's gonna grow up, hit puberty, undergo mood swings, and before you know it, you're fending off all those guys who are hitting on her (maybe that's when you really need the shotgun? XD). Weird as what your wife did sounds, at least, it made you focus on your lovely daughter's younger years. Seriously, enjoy their cuteness and innocence before it's gone. Next thing you know, they're rebellious, antagonistic and full of attitude! Ok, that's not necessarily the case here but you never know.

It's quite nice to hear that some guys are aware of/concerned about these women matters. At least, it helps them to understand what some women feel instead of simply saying, "Sheesh, what's wrong with you today? PMS again??!!" I'm like "Shut up, it's a friggin' bleedin' CRAMP! Oh Lord, I'm gonna DIEEEEEE! [insert intense expressions of pain and discomfort]"

.................

Hehehehe if that bothered you, you really haven't gotten to know the female race as much as you thought you did. We women aren't that weak, ya know. We can handle quite a bit of blood, tension and agony on a regular basis. Am I right, sisters? ;)
