My wife draged me into the tampon isle!!!

Talk about anything in here.

My wife draged me into the tampon isle!!!

Postby Hakaii » Sun Jan 21, 2007 10:39 am

*shutter* yesterday, my wife and I had to run to the store to pick up some food and we started to talk about our daughter that is about to be born in April. She told me that one day, I'll be out and will have to buy tampons for her when she gets older. *the look on my face turns to horror*:drool:

Me: WHAT!!!!!!!! no! NO!!.....heck NO!!!! wh...wh..Why?

Wife: its going to happen sooner or later. common, lets go down this isle and I'll show you the differance

Me: wait no!!!!! *as she pulls me towards the feminin isle (aka no-mans land)*

as we enter the isle I can feel my man-hood dieing! she begins to explain the differance between tampons and cotex. (cotex! wings? what? are they aerodynamic too? what kind of propulsion do they use to achieve thrust? WAIT!! I don't want to know!!!!!)

Wife: ok Davie, remember cotex has wings, tampons have strings! now, If you look at..... DAVID STOP LOOKING AT THE FLOOR

****! busted!

suddenly, she sees a bag of cotex that were already opened. she pulls one out (to my dismay. lets face it, I just want to leave at this point) and she begins to squeeze it!! (Why? LORD help me!! please!!! I'll do anything LORD! Just please I beg you to deliver me from this place!!!!)

Wife:you see? this is how you tell how absorbant they are!!

Me:*gag*

Wife: oh stop! now about tampons. when she's old enough our daughter is going to probably need these "narrow" ones. and... DAVIE WHATS WRONG?!

*I go into convulsions*

Me: um... honey? *convulsion* can we NOT talk about my baby as if she has any of those body parts?

Wife: but she will!

Me: not until she's 30!! this is our B-A-B-Y were talking about!:(

Wife: *sigh*

Me:... can't she use duct tape?

Wife: DAVID!!!

Just go out to the gun range and fire off a couple hundred rounds, then eat some meat. You'll be A-OK.

Dude, face it, if you're having a baby girl, this stuff is going to come up. Better get used to it now. :thumb:
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

I've dragged my BROTHERS into that aisle before. Actually, I've bought stuff and left it with them while running off shopping for other things. I'm EVIL! :P

I am a man that can buy those things for my wife, no prob. but my little LiLi-kins?! noooooo!! yes I know she's a girl but.... she's my little baby!!

Hmmm. Gotta say, as a guy. I've never fully understood the trouble some guys have with this stuff. At least, not with just being on the aisle, or even buying them for a wife/girlfriend/female member if you have to - not like anybody's going to think they're for you. Though I guess I can partially understand your consternation about thinking of you daughter in this context and the sudden ambush explanation of the nuanced differences between the various products.

see? that's my point. sure its somewhat akward going in that isle. but I REALLY don't want to know the particulars of why that isle exists!! There are somethings A LOT of things guys don't want to know about being a woman. not that we don't sympathize, but heck, can't we keep it simple and tell us what hurts and what we need to do to fix it? especially with my baby girl in the picture.

You know, there are days when you absolutely TERRIFY me...ABSOLUTELY terrify!

Anyway, that was kinda cruel of your wife to take you down "That aisle" when your daughter isn't even fully formed yet! I har where you're comming from with getting the heeby-jeebies down that section...In Wal-Mart, that aisle is right next to deodorants. So everytime I buy deodorant, my stomach starts churning.

I, like Red Mage, am not really disturbed by this type of thing. It's simply a fact of life, and my interactions with sister, mother, and other women have taught me to accept such things as normal rather than finding them odd or bizarre (not that any of these people were crudely upfront about this type of thing, but they didn't pretend tampons and the like didn't exist either). I have even bought this type of stuff at the behest of my mother or sister (although with exact instructions of what to buy), and I didn't really blink twice. Even if it's early, I guess that if you have such qualms about these types of things then your wife probably has the right idea about starting to teach you about them now.

I just hope that when I get married, it'll be to a guy who's man enough that won't get scared off by women stuff :/ ...but no way would I be discussing future stuff like that about kids :? Some things are best to wait closer to the time to discuss...

Heh, about guys buying women stuff in stores though, I always get a kick when guys come in to buy their girlfriends/wives some at my work. They always make some sarcastic comment like "Yeah, seeing a guy come in and buy this... I'm sure you get that all the time!" It's amusing, but at least they're man enough to do it!

HAH Thats funny.. If I was buying some I would probably go through the self checkout aisle... If somebody was ringing it up for Me I wouldn't say anything unless they looked at me funny... then i would smile and say "bad bloody noses... " just to see there reaction!
