It's the "Final Chapters," so I'd wager a volume or two tops, depending on how he plans to wrap things up.

yeah. i didn't really expect Urasawa to start an entirely new series as a sequal for 20th Century Boys. some may expect too much from it...

Now that I'm back at college, I'm finally catching up on a great deal of manga that I have been unable to read while on break. Won't bother listing the series here, though today it was Fairy Tail.

For the past few days, I've been browsing over 20th Century Boys again. Cruel licensing dates. And you know, you miss quite a bit reading it through just once. Reading it a second time sets up so many things for later that you forgot about at the time (Here's looking at you, Konchi).

Heaven's Door Volumes 1 and 2

It's a manga about people who want to create manga. Though it doesn't have anything particularly impressive and some objectionable content, it succeeding in making me care enough about the characters to read two volumes.

I finally read this well after the sixth volume is out. This one was helpful as far as filling out more of the world and hopefully I'll be able to pick up the sixth at some point before too long.

i read the first volume of hellsing some time ago. i thought it looked interesting and when i saw that it was only rated T (thought it would be M or something like that), i decided to try it. it was okay. the art was sorta wierd for me but i might try it again. the series is pretty short actually. i might consider the anime as well. it's only like...13 episodes. i watched the first one on youtube. the opening theme song was freaky.

Hirano's art starts sketch, but improves vastly over the course of Hellsing. If you've snatched a look at the OVAs, that's his level of art at current.

Not sure how strongly I'd advise that. I've been more disappointed by it these days. I'll need to wait for it to wrap up before I can say for certain.

Same here. But overall, I'd say that if Alexander Anderson doesn't bother you much then the rest of the series won't seem much worse.

As for myself, I've been reading Hotman. I can't decide if it's an interesting character-driven story or a manga without much direction. If I read more of it will likely depend on how busy my schedule becomes. In addition I've read some of Tenjou Tenge, which is as fanservice-ridden as is claimed, but I wouldn't recommend it even if that isn't an issue for you: overall it seems as though the author is uncertain what they want to do and there's a quality I can't quite pin down that makes the storytelling seem haphazard and... amateur, I guess.

I wouldn't say so. I liked him too, in a detached sort of way (that is to say that I didn't approve of his theology or actions). He made a good first impression on me by stopping the two kids from fighting, and if he wasn't so bloodthirsty toward non-Catholics he'd be a decent person.

In fact, he'd probably be a much deeper and more complex character if he was a good person who wouldn't kill normally but believes that vampires are evil and need to be destroyed. Of course, Hellsing has significant stronger marks in the Decapitations category than in Complex Characters.
