Anyone a fan of Blind Guardian?

I have their first 4 cds (Battalions of Fear, Follow The Blind,Tales From The Twilight World, and Somwhere Far Beyond) and i have Nightfall In Middle Earth wich was the first cd i got by them.Thier one of my all time favorite bands.
Anyone?

Just kidding, it seriously boils down to opinion. The new UnderOATH is obviously more popular considering the mass success of Define The Great Line .

My favorite UnderOATH song of all time still and always will remain: "The Last".

I actually enjoy the new UnderOath more as well. I'm just not a huge fan of Dallas's voice. Cries Of The Past and Acts Of Depression are awesome though. What I am sure of is that I think that Changing Of Times is definately their worst out of all their albums.

I would definately have to disagree with you there.

I personally despised They're Only Cashing Saftey to the point where I started using it as a frisbee. There were two or three okay songs there, but the rest IMO was rubbish.

"Define" was a decent screamo/metalcore album.

Cries of the Past was just freakin amazing.

I like Dallas' present vocals alot more when he's with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.

EDIT: Yes, literally used TOCS as a frisbee. No lie.

Finally someone who agrees. So Tom other than the answer "because everyone else says it cool" Why do you like the old underOath stuff (btw i am just kidding about the "everyone else thinks its cool part' xD)

I found it rather Subpar not because of recording quality but because i hate dallas's vocals (but i love Maylene and the sons of diaster) Chaging times was alot of this formula

1part screaming
1part 18year old Aaron Glipsee singing
1part heavy distortion
1part synths

through in blinder get the changing times

Amen to that Grubb! Out of every album that I've heard from Underoath "The Changing Of Times" has got to be the least original sounding to me. It seems as if they were copying all the other emerging screamo of the time such as A Static Lulleby.

I personally didn't think Changing of Times is that good, to be honest. I mean, I like a couple sounds off it, and I think it's gold compared to TOCS (I don't know why, I just HATE that CD. I'm very tolerant music-wise, but I just couldn't get into it to the point where I despised it). Yeah, the Changing of Times (as an album) was a failed mix of Metalcore and screamo. To me, times really did change then. They started sucking.

Congrats on hating Dallas' vocals, Grub. His old vocals remind me of the lead vocalist of Zao, but for some reason, I don't like Zao that much.

Yeah, so I still think "The Last" is underOATH's best song in their entire recording history.

And I still heavily believe the band's downfall was when they allowed Aaron to sing. They basically threw emo elements into it with that.

Everyone else says it's cool? Grub, NONE of my personal friends like Underoath. Well, a couple do but only Define the Great Line.

Regardless of me not liking Changing of Times that much, I still think this music video is their best by far:

Late on this, yes, but I love War of Ages. The new CD is bad in a good way. You know. Bad, and there's a word I'd like to add to the end of bad, but I can't because I'm posting on CAA.

Also, as for the Dallas vs Spencer/old vs new Underoath, it all boils down to opinion. Old Underoath is definitely better but I've enjoyed the heck out of listening to Define the Great Line. Dallas is in Maylene and still making music, so I'm happy.

I have the re-releases of Battalions of Fear and Follow the Blind. I like them, but I haven't listened to them in a long time.

These are my favorite jazz/fusion-influenced metal bands (you should be able to find them all on Myspace):

I highly suggest you get Nightfall In Middle Earth, its amazingly good. Ive only heard Alterna Enigma hah but i didnt relaly like them cuase the really electric sounding drums are kinda distracting and stuff.

uhhhh......they use live acoustic drums, and they aren't distracting at all.

Alterna Enigma sounds cool as well.

Anyway, I think Blind Guardian is pretty good. I have Nightfall.... I really like their song from the new album, "Another Stranger Me". It has a cool music video too.

Agalloch sounds good so far.

Oh yeah, you guys remember that Death Metal group The Hellen Keller Experience? Well, when that band broke up, one half of the band become Def Leopard and the other half become Blind Guardian.

And the most crappy Hellen Keller joke award goes to Tom Dincht!

Seriously though, I pretty much like every single one of Agalloch's song but "Kneel at the Cross". The vocals are annoying, and I don't even wanna read the lyrics.
