James Brown Dead at 73

Postby KhakiBlueSocks » Mon Dec 25, 2006 8:18 am

Sorry to put a downer on everyone's Christmas, but it's just been announced that James Brown died early this morning at 73 years old. He was one of the worlds greatest soul singers around and was very well known as "the hardest working man in show business."

Rest in peace, Mr. Brown. You got a brand new bag in Heaven now.

I need to go down to James Brown Blvd/9th St today and blast "I Feel Good" in front of the James Brown statue. He was from Augusta, my city. Wow. I'm kinda stunned. The Godfather of Soul is dead.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

I don't really like Soul music, but this saddens me nonetheless.

The church scene in "The Blues Brothers"
He was also a actor too and appeared in a few TV shows and other movies.

AKa the Godfather of Soul.
I'll always remember that line at the end of that one SLIDERS ep.after they leave the world where the Colonies had lost the Revolution and they end up giving them
a version of the Declaration of Independence or Constititution or something and
Remy had added the line:"And James Brown is to be considered the Godfather of
Soul" in it and the people from that alternate reality are reading it and they come to that part and they all exclaim:"Who's James Brown?"that was kinda funny.
But yeah it is sad when anyone passes...well when most people die.

RIP. The music world wouldn't have been the same without you.
