What scared you as a kid?

Talk about anything in here.

I was, am, and always will be scared of roaches...
Hmm...that and roaches...oh! And this particalar nightmare involving me getting left at an airport right before a flight.
There's heights too.

Can't think of anything else.

The correct question is "What didn't scare you?"

Well, anyhow... I was scared of Big Bird when I was really little. At about 6 years old, I saw a glimpse of the Fly (the '50s one, not the '80s one) and it scared me until I was 15... No joke... I had streams of nightmares, not even remotely related to the movie, when I first saw it and every time I caught just a glimpse of that face until I finally broke down and watched it all the way through when I was 15 or 16...

I also got scared of the trailer for Child's Play 3 (or was it 2?) with the evil Jack in the Box.

I was scared of all roller coasters for most of my life, but finally got into them about... Hmm... Maybe 14? I still don't like shakey coasters, but it's not a matter of fear anymore, instead it's just a matter of not wanting a headache... My favorite Rollercoaster is Batman because it's so smooth.

I was scared of all manner of creepy things... Spiders, Scorpions, centipedes, ticks, bees, wasps... oh, well, that hasn't changed much, except I'm not so scared of Spiders anymore... Scorpions et all still scare the crap out of me...

I used to be scared out of my mind about those hand things in Zelda... Gah... I remember swearing I could see them in the dark when I moved through my old house at night... I was really afraid to move around in the dark, then...

Hahahahahahahahahahaha... No, the scary song is "Every breath you take" or whatever it's called...

Dolls, thanks to the movie, Chucky
Clowns, thanks to the movie, It
Public toilet rooms, thanks to...some scary movie monster called Willy/Willie(?)
Dogs, because one harassed me
Dark-skinned men, because one sexually assaulted me

At this point, I've gotten over these fears but I still don't like the Critters (those horrible round black...things), Gremlins and E.T.

Honestly I can't really say. I don't have any memories of being afraid that stick out. Oh wait, I do remember being scared of not being able to move. I was climbing through a snow tunnel and it colapsed on me, and I couldn't move. And my dad used to sit on me on the couch (I never said any thing about it to him, so he didn't know it scared me), my brother and I used to roll each other up in sheets or sleeping bags like a mummy, so we couldn't move, and that scared me more then anything. For some reason we kept doing it though. :hits_self:

Other then that, there was really nothing that scared me. Some things weirded me out a little, but not a lot, like the cat in Alice and Wonderland, or the clown in Brave Little Toaster.

I don't allow myself to be scared of things like needles; although I used to be scared to death of them, I realized that the only making me scared of them was me. The one thing I do with is the veins on my wrist. I used to not be able to touch them, or let anyone else touch them, but I'm much better about it.

Just for the record, I saw Chucky when I was about 10, and I laughed my way through it. Mainly due to his lack of a range of motion, the newer films might be scarier now that he's CGI.

The Wicked Witch of the West in Wizard of Oz used to really scare me. So did Maleficent (which is why it was so cool to actually be able to fight her in Kingdom Hearts) and the Wicked Stepmother in Snow White. Especially when she turned herself into an old woman.

I don't think I was afraid of very much when I was little. Ask my brother, though. He'd have a lot more stories.

I was afraid of bees, though. And living in Florida made it kind of an ordeal. My brother and I used to call them "standing-still bees," because my parents taught us to freeze when one comes near instead of flailing and running away.

I do fear spiders. Actually, I prefer the word hate. I hate spiders. I don't know if this is when it started, but when I was little, I was laying down on the carpet, and one crawled onto my face. Seeing as I still remember it, it must have made some impact.

I did always fear the scene of the air-conditioning blowing up in The Brave Little Toaster. Hid behind something and covered my ears.

I, like probably most kids, hated getting shots. Every time we went to the doctor, I'd ask my mom, "Am I gonna get a shot?" Now, I don't mind 'em, really. But people have betrayed me with those things. When I was little, the doctor assured me this was the only shot he'd give me, but right after that, he came in and gave me another! And then, at the dentist's office, I was getting a filling, or something, and the dentist told me she had some device that looked like a needle, but it really wasn't, so don't worry. So, during the proceedure, she used it on me, and it, in fact, wasn't a shot. But then she used what I thought was the same thing on me and it WAS a shot! And then, she brought it to my mouth a third time, and I twitched, because I thought it was the shot again, but then she chided me, saying, "Now, now, I told you this wasn't a shot." Like I could have believed her then! XD

Hey same here. When I was little, I was squeemish about even exposing my wrists. Totally over that now, though.

I dunno I didn't have too many fears but they were always wild.
I couldn't lay on my side as a kid cause whenver I would, I could hear my hearbeat and I'd think it was something walking slowly coming to get me. hehe
I was scared of clowns... more like terrified! lol Still am... only I handle it better. XD
Spiders... ugh... I think I hate spiders WAY more than I fear them. hehe
Sounds drive me alot, I can't watch horror movies. I'll watch 'em... maybe, without the sound. XD

Wow, so many others had my fear of that horrible creepy possessed doll. We should make a "Burn Chucky" coalition...

Actually, the first time I was able to like dolls, was when I saw Rozen Maiden^^ EGL is great and they had delightful personalities^^ Ok, so they WERE anime, but even if it was live action, they'd be pretty^^ Oh, and dolfies rock too^^

I was and sometimes still am afraid of my closet at night.. If I have just watched something scary, I am very afraid! lol ^^ Let's see, as a little kid I wasn't to scared of much, but we used to live in a townhouse up until 2 years ago, and my bedroom was at the end of the hall and my parents + the bathroom was on the opposite side as my room! And you had to pass the stairs to get to the rooms.

I was always afraid to go past the stairs I thought something would grab me.. Skeletons and stuff ya know? *shudders*

Lemme see.. I know I have more.. Oh, I was scared of my living room at night! XD

Oh yea! and I thought that my dad was a demon XD That's kinda terrible isn't it?

I was the opposite when I was younger^^ Only because the fear was triggered by a nightmare I had, where the piggy bank was a giant eyeball staring at me, and the clothes could like, fly around the room and wanted to kill me >_< Yes... it isn't fun to have dreams where you're eyes are open :/ Course now the closet is open whenever and has been for some time now^^

It brings back so many memories, seeing what everyone used to be afraid of. Like the Zizzer zazzer zuzz at the end of the Dr. Seuss ABC's book, I read these and go, "Oh, I know! Me too!"
I have quite a bit, I'll only name a few:
-faces in the window (still scared of it)
-masks
-someone jumping out and grabbing me
-embarrassment
-rejected and/or shunned
-punishments (spanking, detention, grounded)
-discovering someone dead
-Yetis (even though we lived in Kansas haha)

We had shag carpeting in my family room when I was really small, and I was terrified of the occasional dead insect we'd find in it. (That problem and others were why my parents eventually got rid of it.)

Was scared of the dark; still am.

Wasn't scared of heights until I was about 10 or so. Long story there. Now I'm way acrophobic.

I saw Nightmare on Elm Street (behind my parents' back) when I was about ten. For about several months, I never dared close my eyes while taking a bath.

Funny, I saw it again a year ago and didn't find it scary at all.
