You think that's hard? Try walking to school before God invented light. That's what we had to do in my day. And we liked it!

GASP! Nate knows what 'light' is? =0

I noticed your sig, too:
To get back my youth I would do anything in the world, except take exercise, get up early, or be respectable.

Funny, I don't recall doing those (except when forced to... *grumble*).

Going off on a tangent but, is anyone else seeing Monty Python references here?

[Excerpt]

TG: Well we had it tough. We used to have to get up out of the shoebox
at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues.
We had half a handful of freezing cold gravel, worked twenty-four
hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when we
got home, our Dad would slice us in two with a bread knife.
EI: Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night,
half an hour before I went to bed, (pause for laughter), eat a lump
of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill
owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home,
our Dad would kill us, and dance about on our graves
singing "Hallelujah."
MP: But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't
believe ya'.
ALL: Nope, nope..

Back in my day, I had to move about before I existed... try getting someplace when the you that you desire to move doesn't exist yet!

I certainly know about the dA thing. It only serves to destroy what little motivation I have.

I feel antique hearing an 18 year old talk about being old.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

What have I done? I've unleashed a horrible joke stampede! We're all gonna die! *Runs around screaming gibberish about old muffins*

[Old man to the side] Bah ya whippersnapper... when I was your age we didn't have jokes, muffins, or could scream. When we panicked... well... I rightfully don't remember now. It involved falling up a cliff I reckon.

As for old computers...let's see.

Our first was a TI-99/4 personal computer. Pretty useless if you ask me, don't know why we spent over $1,000 on it. Maybe the fact that my husband is a computer programmer and was dying to get one for home...yeah that's the reason. I'm thinking he got mad and smashed it one day, but I'm not sure if my memory is correct. I'm not going to ask him though, because whatever he was assumedly mad about should probably stay buried in our subconscious. XD

Didn't own, but have used: Radio Shack TRS-80, Apple II, Atari (Don't recall ever using a Commodore, though.)

Oooh, speaking of old computers...I'm old enough that I can remember when computers had only two colors on their screens: black, and green.
