We have male Ashley's up here in Canada?? @_@...

Did you ever see that movie The Forgotten? The main guy's name was Ash, and he was a hockey player in Canada. And when I lived in Seattle, the kid down the street was named Ashley and he too was from Canada. Behold, real life experience!

Well what do ya know? Although a name like "Ash" would sound appropriate I mean, hmmm where have I heard that name commonly used in a certain show?)

Why isn't anyone suggesting anime character names? Doesn't anyone want to name their kids Cloud or Aerith?

Although I can see if someone named their kid something like "Tifa". It sounds a bit more natural and can even be say, a nickname to "Tiffany".

The reason why I chose Bertha for a girl's name is because it was my paternal grandma's name.

If my parents had named me after a video game or anime character, I would legally change my name when I was 18 and never speak to them again.

Ditto. XD

Let's not forget Nicholas Cage's son's name...Didn't he name him like, "Batman" or something? I do wonder what illegal substance he was getting high on when he decided that sometimes. XD

For a boy, I like Corban. It means "a gift devoted to God" in Hebrew. Along more conventional lines, I like Thomas and Timothy, but the problem is I don't like the nicknames Tim, Tom, Timmy or Tommy. :shake: Speaking of nicknames, I'd also like to use Jack, not John, just Jack, in honor of my hero C.S. Lewis. Also, Wayne, in honor of my other hero Rich Mullins (that was his middle name and what family called him).

My list for girls isn't as long, but it's quite unusual. I like Siobhan (Gaelic version of Joan, pronounced shiv-onne, meaning "God is gracious") and, though it technically isn't a name at all, Verity (a little-used word referring to a certainty or absolute truth). Combining Irish themes with the theme of non-name words used as names, I think Lorica would be a really pretty girl's name, in honor of the "St. Patrick's Breastplate" prayer.

I love Ender's Game. So I was thinking names from the book for kids.

Boys:
Andrew
Juliani
Alai

Girls:
Petra
Valentine
Suri (I know it's a guys name, but it sounds like a girls name)

Of course, due to the requirements that must be met in order for children to exist, I'm sure I wont get 100% of the say in the naming.

Actually, Nichols Cage name his son Kal El (Superman).

Anyway, if I have kids, there will not be a Jonathan Junior. The closest my wife could hope for is Anthony Jordan Michaelson.

Boys:
Eli
Reuben
Eric
Isaiah

Girls:

Names I like from others' suggestions:

Bobtheduck wrote:Robert

Hitomi wrote:Elizabeth

Ender wrote:Alai

My list of names:

Girl:
Amara
Rose

Either:
Adrian
Dorian
(Not sure those are girl's names as well, but what the heck.)

Boy:
Vincent (I'm biased toward that name because of who owns it. @.@)

Could have sworn I had more than that...

Oh, oh! Pick me, pick me! I've always wanted to name one of my kids Sebastion for a boy or Naomi for a girl. I also really love elaborate and foreign sounding names (I'm actually stumped for examples at the moment)

Elisabeth, but I will be calling her Li'l Lilly or Lizzie anyway. *daydreams about what daughter will be like*.... I can just see her now, playing a video game and her character loses and she comes to me asking me to help her beat the game... AWE!
I think that I'm going to go out tonight and look at baby stuff at walmart and maybe buy something. :)

I suggest you name her Elizabeth Caroline that way you can use both names.
Besides it has a nice ring to it,especially if your last name happens to be Clayton
and you live in Southeastern Virginia, especially in Southampton county.
But I digress.
