In Animeniacs defense, I'll bring this up again. They pass through US Customs every single day on each shipment; businesses in the US have to have special permission to start. You don't just open up your own place or anything. That being said, the fact they have an actual storefront (in Colorado), I still believe they are legit. Call me naive, but that's my 2 cents on it. And personally, I'd ask everyone to tone it down here; it's starting to sound far too hostile than it should. Read the link, decide for yourself. That's all there is to it.

Hey, I'm in Colorado. Where is this store? I gotta check it out and report back.

I really do regret responding to an old post, but I really need to reply to this, FX is indeed a brand of bootlegers, I know people who have been decived by them, compare their dubed DVDs to a domestic realse of the same series on DVD, they rip everything from the standard DVDs including the menus, then they delete the trailers and most of the other special features.

As to how they get though customs, I don't know, but they aren't the only illegal products that do. If everything illegal was cought by customs, the drug problem in the US wouldn't be nearly as bad as it was. I suppose there is a chance that if someone is selling bootlegs they do it unknowingly but more then likely...

Whether or not FX is truly an illegitimate company I don't think anyone here on board is able to say definitively. So again, let people read the link and info for themselves and let God convict where necessary. Especially on something so trivial as this--in the long run it won't really matter. (On more serious spiritual issues my stance is slightly different, but that's a tangent unto itself).

I'm not going to comment on the drug problem; that's getting into politics that should probably stay out of this conversation. Again, that's your belief and opinion, thanks for sharing it, but you really don't have evidence as to if they (the dvds) are truly contraband. Now can this thread peacefully resume it's resting place?

I won't make any more posts reguarading this subject unless I do find evidence, is that agreeable?

btw what would you consider evidence?

edit: Also my goal was not to go into politics, I was just trying to make an anology, nothing more.

And this might be a trivial subject to you, but I have a strong feelings against bootlegging. I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I also can't change who I am.

If the website was breaking American laws It would be closed down. Period. I have read what the owner has to say...and many people have tryed to close his site down...and there just ain't no law to hang him with. While you might not think it is right....by USA law its not illegal. Otherwise they would not be able to have an open store on Colorado and ship items USPS. Don't you think people have hated the site more then you after all this time? Yes they have. And the company remains. If someone is convicted over dealing with FX or animeniacs...so be it. But please do not attempt to force your views on everyone. Everyone is accountable to God themself. *hopes the thread can go back into silent oblivion.*

Isn't that what you just did? O_o

I had made the compromise saying that I won't post on this anymore unless I found hard evidance, was that post really nesscary?

Edit:

I really hate to beat a dead horse, but from the FBI's website...

http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cid/fc/fifu/about/about_ipc.htm

" Many counterfeiters hail from foreign countries, such as South Korea, Vietnam, or Russia. They are frequently organized in a loosely knit network of importers and distributors who use connections in China, southeast Asia, or Latin America to have their counterfeit and imitation products made inexpensively by grossly underpaid laborers."

"One reason domestic law enforcement has not adequately enforced IP laws is that modern IP crime is a new and different type of crime that much of U.S. law enforcement is not yet familiar with."

edit 2: Also, when you want to end a thread, its a good idea not to be so hostial, I think Ashly demonstarted this perfectly, I was ready to quit. I've been having a wonderful time at this community till I came across that post.

Ok, enough! This thread isn't going to end well, and I'm closing it right now. But before I do,

Isn't that what you just did? O_o

It's not exactly good form to be telling an admin/mod what to do. Whether you meant it courteously or not, that's pretty audacious and more than a bit rude. Shatterheart wasn't rude to you, just telling you what the US laws say; don't be so to him. Please refrain from this sort of action in the future, ok? Consider yourself warned...we don't mess around with attitudes like that very long.

Now then, this thread is officially closed. Final judgement: personal convictions people.
