In the interest of supporting the females in this thread concerned about modesty, let me say that SP1's experience isn't universal. Admittedly I'm not the norm here, but if a woman is wearing loose clothing there's almost no chance that a sexual thought will even come to mind. Other clothing can be more obnoxious.

I will cede the point that clothing can be obnoxious. Certain slogans and some styles are used specifically to offend. These should be a no-brainer taboo at a Christian school. With regard to the temptation thing, I was harkening back to a specific example wherein "bare shoulders" (that is, a sundress) were considered too tempting for the student body. This was Florida, mind you. It was this sort of over-the-top conservatism that I was referring to, not explicitly provocative dress.

Um, wow. This thread is making me worry about my school. Last fall we had an epidemic of nude performance artists (thankfully there were enough complaints that it didn't happen again this year) and I once mistook one of my male classmates for a very questionably dressed female when he showed up at a lecture in a miniskirt, halter, fishnets and makeup O_o

The joys of a secular art school, nude models are the least of my concerns. Needless to say, dress codes are pretty much unheard of. I just do my best not to get too desensitized and my personal dress code is still pretty modest to the point of tomboyishness. Now getting me to dress up is a completely different matter.

LQ, at first I thought, "She must go to Berkeley."

Nude models are to be expected in certain art classes in a secular art school. But outside those classrooms, people need to keep their clothes firmly on, IMHO, even if it is at an art school.
