Favorite Miyazaki Hero!

Postby USSRGirl » Sat Nov 25, 2006 4:32 pm

This is a spin-off on the favorite Miyazaki heroine poll that was up awhile ago. Who's you favorite Miyazaki guy?

I'm probably the only one here who's voting for Selm, because he wasn't even in the Nausicaa movie. *pouts* He was much cooler than Asbel though, as far as bug-eating treehuggers go anyway. Probably my fav Miyazaki hero. A close race between him and Haku though.

LET THE COMPETITION BEGIN!!!

I voted for Pazu. I would have voted for Howl, but I didn't want to have a vote that was based solely on the VA (Christian Bale for the win). XD

Although I don't like Lupin's character in other movies (bad! Very bad! >_<) In Cagliostro, he made the movie so fun^^

...coming in a close second was Ashitaka.

I boycott this poll for the distinct lack of Jigen.

Jigen is much cooler than Lupin.

Since I only really like Spirited Away and Laputa, it's either Haku or Pazu.

Haku gets the edge though, purely on VA choice. Jason Marsden actually held back and did a fairly good job.

Miyazaki's Lupin made a fine hero, but I have seen far too much of his other deeds to vote for him. I voted for the Red Pig. He has a rough exterior, but inside beats a heart of gold.

Porco was largely awesome. Oooh I should have added Farrari... from Porco Rosso? The Fascist? I loved him!!

Yeah, I agree with Tenshi no Ai, I liked Lupin in Cagliostro but Lupin III series is generally rather trashy.

Ashitaka gets my vote. Mononoke is still an amazing movie, and he is an amazing hero.

Howl, because I just saw that movie.

But Baron the Cat was pretty cool, too.

Porco is without a doubt my favorite Miyazaki hero. He is just a great character and I think has more depth to him than most heros in Miyazaki's films.

Howl! Whoo! Not to say I've seen all these movies. But from what I know, I pick Howl. *has also read the Howl's Moving Castle book* :D

Hey, I'm reading that too.

Does it seem to anyone else like all the heroines in Miyazaki's movies look and act very much alike? Or is that just me??

I liked Ashitake a lot. I really wanted him and Mononoke to end up together. Oh well.
