Pretear

I ran a search on this title before making the thread, and I found three topics that were all from either '03 or '04. So I figured it was time for a new one! XD

Anyways, I just bought the thinpak for this series on Sunday, and I've watched the first two discs. I am LOVING it! Seriously, it's got everything a shoujo magical girl anime should have: a good story, quality animation, lovable characters, romance, and the perfect amount of comedy! This was kind of a blind purchase, as I had only previewed part of the first episode via youtube and had read the review for it here on CAA before stumbling across it at my Best Buy. Still, I've found the series to be highly enjoyable so far!

So who else has seen this series, and what did you all think? Oh, but no spoilers please, unless they're in tags! XD I've got the last 5 episodes to finish when I get the time, and I'd hate for the ending to be ruined for me or anyone else who hasn't finished it! ;)

Ah yes I have the thin pak also. I also am a fan of the series. Be warned it gets alot of angst. The ending moved me to tears
I mean sacrificing her self to save her friends then the snow white ending of the kiss to bring her back was great
I have yet to see it, but I hate how they changed Kei's character design. *cries*

I've seen it and...well, I have to say I'm slightly embarrassed to like it, but it is a cute magical girl anime. I've enjoyed it.

Though I preferred the manga, typical me, I loved the anime! I had the intro. song stuck in my head for ages! It's so different and its clean. Yes, it makes me happy.

Kyaa, I just finished it last night (and stayed up until 12AM to do so...XD; )! I LOVED it. For a blind purchase, I can say that it was worth every penny!
There were so many things that had me on the edge of my seat...whether Sasame would really die, whether Hayate would die, whether Himeno would die...I was VERY happy with the ending, though! :thumb:
I don't have a lot of time to gush over it right now, as I have to get back to class, but anyways, yes, ThatDude, I would definitely recommend it if you're into either shoujo anime or the magical girl genre. It's VERY good! :D

And yes, this anime has made it to my top five favorites, knocking Cowboy Bebop down to #6. XD

I generally watch more shonan but read more shojo...But since this sounds good I'll check it out, I'll probably try and convice siblings to give it to me for a christmas present.

Perhaps YOU know many guys into shojo, I, however, am the only one I know besides a convert friend of mine and people I know of from the 'net. Thus it's a little embarrassing, especially when my sister calls it "cute" in her voice indicating that it ranks up with high-level cute girly things. Nothing I can't handle, mind, but I still have trouble getting over the idea that it isn't normal to enjoy such things...

It's a truly visual and literal masterpiece. I love Himeno; she's such an atypical heroine. The allusions to western fairy tales are amazing as well.

I would also say that the series is worth getting (well the Thinpak at least which is what I have too). I say this even though I am definately a Kei fan and I almost cried when I realized how much they ruined his character in the anime. So that being said I would say watch the anime before you read the manga, because the anime is definately inferior in many ways to the manga.

Kei aside though the anime is still very good. It goes is quite a different direction with the plot then the manga which isn't necessairly a bad thing. It's also rather clean as animes go. This series was probably one of the best "blind buys" you could make. :thumb:

I've seen a little bit of this series...I really should try watching it, since it shares a director with my favorite series, and I love magical girl series, too. XD
