Ah, I'll miss him. In fact, I've missed him these past few years where he didn't do anything particularly prominent. At least we have many good movies where he played many good roles. Jack Palance was a great actor, a fine actor (not counting his few silly roles where he was grievously miscast*). I'll certainly miss him. I can still remember him doing one-armed push-ups at the Academy Awards when he won the Oscar for City Slickers. Showing off and getting away with it because he's cool!

* He once played Fidel Castro in an ill-conceived 1960's filmversion fo the life of Ché Guevara (the symbol of hypocritical liberals). Leonard Maltin said you haven't lived until you've seen him in that roll.

I'll never look at one-handed pushups the same way again. Jack Palance made 'em look cool when he did 'em at the Oscars.

*Explosion goes off in the movie*

mechana2015: Does that answer your question?

K. Ayato: Perfectly.

I felt bad when I saw this on the news. They played a clip of him from Shane and it made me feel a little snuffly on the inside.

He did great voice acting, too (The Swan Princess movie).

He played villians so well which is why he got the role in City Slickers in the first place.
Like another great actor,Jimmy Stewart,Palance was from Pennsylvania but unlike
Stewart he came from the coal mining country which probably explains his rugged
attitude.People from coal mining country tend to be tough to begin with.

One of those actors who just exuded cool. Embarasslingly enough, I thought he died a couple of years ago, so the headline was a shock.

God can do anything, anytime, anyway He wants to.......if He wants to paint me blue and hang me upside down nekkid from an apple tree, thats alright, as long as it's God doing it. Of course, if He comes through with a directive like that, I might have to ask for some I.D. Michael Wanke
