Picti was the name that the Romans gave the Picts,it supposedly was a nickname that derived from the custom of painting the skin before going into battle and means Painted Men or something like.
Also the Picts were one of the very few European peoples to have a matrileneal
instead of a patrileneal line of inheritance.(Note:This is different from matriarchy and patriarchy).In Pictish tradition the inheritance was from the mother's side.This
led to the eventual political end of the Pictish Kingdom since several of the Dalraidan Scots Kings married Pictish Princesses and thus their sons held the right of inheirtance for both the Scots and Pictish kingdoms.In this way as well as through outright conquest Scotland was born from the two great rival kingdoms of the Picts and the Scots.

Humans might not have 99% of the same DNA as mice. However, on a slightly more macro level, the only other organism with the same chromosomes as a human is... the potato.
