The Unchanging Truth

"To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, 'If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'"
John 8:31-32

Though this may be an oversimplification, there are basically two fundamental worldviews with regard to the subject of TRUTH. These two views can be compared to playdough and a rock. They are two ways to view the world in which we live. The playdough worldview sees truth as flexible, changing, unstable, mysterious, and constantly fluctuating. The Rock perspective sees truth as something that is hard, inflexible, rigid, thus providing a sense of permanence, constancy, solidity, and security.

No matter which worldview we happen to place ourselves, it is vital that we understand that we all live in an increasingly playdough culture.

Prayer: Ask God to help you stand firm on the truth of His Word.

"When regard for truth has been broken down or even slightly weakened, all things will remain doubtful."
~St. Augustine
