Anyone recall Wulin Warriors (a.k.a. Pili Puppet Show)?
It was shown on CN back in 2006 and it was so bad (badly edited and dubbed) that it got canceled immediately after showing two episodes.

If you can't recall, here's the clip on YouTube that was originally shown in CN. Be warned, the clip may make some of you feel the need to smash your head on the wall.

But wait, it's NOT OVER YET! After 4 years later, they are getting bolder and wilder! Check out their 2010 version for this clip!! :thumb:

Oh, I found an old thread here: http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?t=30419

Guess back then almost everyone had nightmares watching it.

Back in 2006, CN did create a promo of that show and it turn out to be the biggest joke in history: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKtpfurvkls

It's actually a serious soap drama show. As you know, back in 2006, whatever foreign shows that were on CN all get turned into a joke. :eyeroll:

This would be astounding under any circumstances, but I'm uniquely unqualified to process what I just witnessed right now. I just watched Being John Malkovich earlier today, and that's all about an aspiring puppeteer, so this show looks PROFOUNDLY creepy to me at the moment.

Oh my. o_o I've never heard of this before, but it looks... interesting. lol
I was actually doing okay with the first video until that rap song came on. Then... yeah. I couldn't take it seriously after that. :P

'Coz this is a considerably popular show in the East. The original show has an extremely complex and far interesting storyline compared to the edited messed up CN version. And it has quite a number of fans from Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and even Japan. You ought to check out these crazy fans from Japan:

And China:

I have to admit, these are just few of the example of how popular the show is. :dizzy:

The show may be creepy but it's also known for its epic fight scenes. It takes insane puppetry skill to direct these kind of fight scenes (these are old videos by the way) :thumb::

Lots of people have never heard of this actually since it was shown 2 episodes on CN only. ^^ The rap song was added by Animation Collectives and it was partly responsible for the cancellation of the show. Of course, the messily edited scenes, poor dubbing and altered storyline is the major cause for the cancellation.

This show.. It looks alright, but the dubbing.. I exited the youtube video when I first heard it O____O

I wonder where they were trying to get at with the rapping part o.O? Where they trying to do a Samurai Champloo thing with it as well o.o?

I was wondering about that too. :P

It is sad that this got so badly edited, though. I wonder if it would've done better if CN stuck closer to the original storyline.

I admit the CN dubbing is scary indeed. I guess back then, sword fighting anime + rap is a trend? Hopefully, we don't get to hear this silly trend again.

It would definitely do better indeed since it already has established huge fan base across East Asia for more than 20 years ago.
