Over the weekend I stumbled across the anime Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple and have since been interested in knowing more about it. Mostly, how much fan service there is considering how the girls are drawn and if it is worth shelling out x amount of dollars for. So, if anyone here has watched this show or know any details regarding its content that information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance! ^__^

In the future, please ask questions about a specific series in the suggestions thread. I will leave this thread open in case anyone actually wants to discuss it.

I follow the manga to some degree. Though I cannot speak for the quality of the anime, it seems as though it covers the first overall arc. In my opinion this is a somewhat weak setup for the second and presumably final overall arc, so the anime stops before the better parts of the series. How much you enjoy it will depend on if you like the formula of action/comedy/training.

In terms of fanservice, it maintains a more or less consistent level. There tends to be less during the serious fighting arcs, though not necessarily. If you've seen a few episodes you have a sense for it.

HSD Kenichi is not an exceptional series, so I can't say I'd recommend paying a lot for it in most cases. However, I do enjoy a sense of training and development that feels realistic (unlike some current shonen series I could name, by which I mean almost all of them). It also does a good job keeping arcs enjoyable when there are both weak and strong characters in the same conflict.

Yeah, I read on a few different sites that thr anime skipped specific arcs of the manga and that it differed in specific areas as well. I've actually only seen a few trailers for it. In terms of the fanservice how extreme does it get?

Also, thank you for responding and being so helpful. :)

That's a difficult question to answer because personal standards vary immensely (also because I'm making assumptions about how the anime handles some things). I assume that from trailers you've seen how the female characters are drawn. Expect this and the usual falling gags. One of your main character is also the overused archetype that tries to peek on them, so expect that. I'd say it's relatively tame overall.
