Dream anime licenses thread

So, what anime do you really, really, really want licensed? Yes, you can say anime that will probably never be licensed EVER. Like Petopeto-san for instance.
Alright, here's my list:
-Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (and the second season, Zoku, and the OVA series Goku)
-Grave of the Fireflies (re-license from Central Park Media, who hasn't rereleased it in years)
-Photon (another CPM re-license)
-Now and Then, Here and There (yet another CPM re-license)
-Nodame Cantabile (one of the only shojo series I actually like, along with Fruits Basket and Ouran High School Host Club)
-GunDOH Musashi
-Pani Poni (the manga)
-Lucky Star (the manga)
-Paranoia Agent and Trigun (Geneon Rescues)

This.
Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne would be nice and so would a re-dub of Sailor Moon.

It kind of irritates me that Captain Herlock: Endless Odyssey got licensed while the original series, Space Pirate Captain Harlock (1978) never got a good release here. Plus, Harlock SSX (from the 80's) is also awesome and it didn't get brought here either. Endless Odyssey is basically a tribute series, not a remake, so HOW IS ANYBODY GONNA APPRECIATE IT IF THEY HAVEN'T SEEN THE ORIGINALS? ;_______; Harlock box sets, pleeeease pleeeease pleeease, and I want some plushies too. ><
Oh yeah, and Galaxy Express 999, both the show and the movies done right. And for Viz to actually translate THE ORIGINAL MANGA INSTEAD OF THE SEQUEL.... *headdesk*

Divine Melody (manhua).
Pretty much everything else that I really really love has been licensed. Unfortunately, that does not mean "released."

Hetalia. The anime isn't even out yet, and I still really really want this to be licensed. XDDD unlikely to ever happen, though, considering how paranoid the Japanese half seems to be about it.
Also Spice and Wolf - but hasn't that been licensed by Funimation? I've heard rumors... Toradora deserves to be licensed too, but I don't think I'd buy that one, so it doesn't really matter to me...
Most of my favorites are already licensed though. xD;

All I can think of Qkochan, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Funimation has only sent out C&Ds for Spice + Wolf on the behalf of the Japanese company that own Spice + Wolf and nothing more.
It could mean they are in talks with them on having it release, but C&D doesn't always mean that the North American anime distributor Funimation will get the license. But its about a 90%]Col. Roy Mustang

I think that someone should pick up Earl & Fairy [aka japanese title : Hakushaku to Yōsei]
... but considering the show is only 12 episodes and it's not very popular right now I don't know if it'll get to NA... even if the light novels (on which the anime is based) became licensed would make me happy...
I would also like the Vampire Knight anime and Vampire Knight Guilty anime (aka season 2) to come to America .. Shojo Beat has featured pictures from it but so far no word on whether it'll be released here... but then again Shojo Beat is seralizing the manga right now so maybe Viz will run it.
Also Spice and Wolf - but hasn't that been licensed by Funimation? I've heard rumors...
Well I know that the Spice and Wolf manga has been released in NA.... can't remember the company right now but if you didn't know that then well ^^' I hope I helped a bit

It's licensed by Viz, but not released yet. Let's just hope Viz does something with Monster's license, like PUT THE SHOW ON ADULT SWIM!!!

Heh, since they have pitch Monster to the Global TV Trade Con and got no where with it, I think that maybe out of the question.

Dreams come true, since one of my 'dream licenses' came true right before New Year's, when Funimation picked up "Oh, Edo Rocket". On the other hand, Funimation just announced a bunch of layoffs. I sure hope it isn't about to go into limbo.
How about:
Mama is a Fourth Grader (It'll never happen)
Tokyo Mew-Mew done correctly.
Space Battleship Yamato done correctly
Now on to the more realistic:
Dennou Coil
Shion no Oh
Musashi
Kure-Nai - Not only a license for the 12-episode series, but maybe get the Japanese to go back and do a longer series! (It's an entire series of light novels, for goodness sake!)

If VIZ would ever get around to the rest of the bobobo manga... XD
It'd also be nice if Tokyopop would release a collection of gag manga. That would be a fun read.
ilikegir33 (post: 1280220) wrote:-Lucky Star (the manga)
Didn't Bandai already license it? I know the scanlation group I had been reading it from dropped it...
EDIT: I was right. found it:

· Sentou Mecha Xabungle
· Uchuu Senshi Baldios
Last but not least, the World Masterpiece Theatre series. These are anime based on classic novels and stories. The US really dropped the ball on this one. Most of the stories are from novels written in English, so localizing and marketing them would not present much of a problem at all. However, at this point I doubt anyone will even bother to try, which is a shame.

Yeah. Especially since these were done by Miyazaki, I think.
I'm adding Doraemon to the list. I'd love to see why that has such a strong fan following. But it's even longer than Naruto, so I'm not sure if any company will think it's worth the trouble.

The only title I can think of at this moment is
Shugo Chara.
It's got some good music and, even though it's in the over-used magical girl genre, its got a strange twist on a few characters. Just enough to be interesting and fresh.
Although, if it does get a license, I hope it gets one from FUNimation, ADV or Bandai. Some of my favorite Dubs come from those companies
