Hey, all! I was wondering what your favorite anime characters of all time are? What characters do you like the most and/or identify with the most?
My top three anime characters would be as follows:

1. L from Death Note
2. Rock Lee from Naruto/Naruto Shipuuden
3. Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket

But if we're talking characters I see as role models:

I was originally thinking top anime characters, but characters from mangas are definitely fine too.

oh, whoops. my apologies. the reason i asked was because some of the previous posts included characters from mangas, and not animes.

Favorite Female Characters

Okay... So I don't think I really have three favorite female characters. Not trying to sound sexist or anything, it's just that usually female characters aren't as developed as male characters. Most of them are either like "hi, I'm female and I'm obsessed with a guy and get jealous when I see him with another girl and don't insult my cooking or I'll hit you with a bucket of rice" OR "hi, I'm female, so don't mess with me because I'm hardcore". A few characters (both male and female) like that are fine, but I prefer believable characters of both genders for the most part, ya know?

Well, there are two female characters that would go in my top ten all together.

1. Sakura Kinomoto - Cardcaptor Sakura/Tsubasa Chronicle
2. Princess Tutu/Ahiru/Duck - Princess Tutu

Favorite Creature Characters

1. Kero - Cardcaptor Sakura
2. Wiz - D.N.Angel
3. Mokona - Tsubasa Chronicle/xxxHolic

1. Kaito Domoto (Males) - Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch

It's difficult to decide, but here it is:

Female:
1. Izumi from FMA --man, she's awesome and she kicks butt
2. Henrietta from Gunslinger Girl --she's so cute with her Amati violin case
3. Winry from FMA --she's got a mean throw with that wrench!

Male:
1. Envy from FMA --his character is so well-developed in the manga
2. Dark from DN Angel --he's so smart-aleky and hilarious
3. Shigure and Ayame from Fruits Basket (tie) --man, the two of them together are quite a team--their exchanges are hilarious
and the runner up:
4. Roy Mustang from FMA --he's really cool and man, what would FMA be without Roy?

Creatures:
1. Shippo from Inuyasha --such a cute and feisty little guy
2. Baron from The Cat Returns --so smooth and voiced by Cary Elwes
3. Oolong from Dragonball --he's just silly --"Piggy, piggy!" XD

What comes to mind:
1: Raquel Cassul from Scrapped Princess
2: Rika Furude from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (I refuse to call it "When They Cry")
3: Ruri Hoshino from Nadesico

They all ended up female. I should make a male category as well.

My favorites are also the characters I identify with the most:
1. L's mannerisms (especially sitting with his knees up)
2. Rock Lee's determination and hard work to make up for his lower natural abilities
3. Kyo's personality and ambition/diligence to become stronger
Runner-up: Zuko's concentration on making up for past wrongs and doing the right thing

I thought of three favorite creature characters, finally:

1. Xiao Mei - FMA (only the manga, sadly)
2. Pikachu - Pokemon (come on, you've got to admit Pikachu's cute)
