CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

My local Anime magazine had quite an interesting article this month. They basically chose a couple of characters from different anime and speculated on who would win in a fight. The characters were mostly thrown together due to some sort of similarity between them.

According to the article:
1. In a match between Ikkaku Madarame from Bleach and Krillin from DBZ, Ikkaku would win. This I agree with, Ikkaku is definitely more powerful.

2. Sakura Haruno (Naruto) would beat Maya Natsume (Tenjo Tenge). I can’t comment since I’m not familiar with these characters.

3. Lastly; Vegita (DBZ) and Grimmjow (Bleach) at first seem to be pretty evenly matched, but Vegita would be the victor once he goes Super Saiyan.

I have a few.

Who would win in a fight between:

1. Kira in the GAT-X105 Strike (Gundam SEED) and Renton and Eureka in the Nirvash Type Zero?
-I’m thinking Kira. I think he has more experience, has better reflexes and is more comfortable as a pilot. (Except he might cry about it afterwards. )

2. Kyuzo (Samurai 7) and Crim (.hack//Sign)?
-Crim is good, but I think Kyzo would beat him.

Since I’ve not seen that many anime, I’ll leave it to you all to come up with more interesting contestants.

Note: This isn’t meant to start debate; it’s just kinda fun to think about. So if someone says the character you’re going to marry one day/be when you grow up (:P) is going to loose against another character, please just let it slide.
Also, feel free to mention manga too. I just placed it in this section since I see more anime than manga.

Contrasting characters from different series can be interesting, provided that everyone understands its just for fun and that different worlds have different rules.

I think not. Sakura, even post time skip, is a mediocre fighter compared to the rest of her generation. Maya is relatively strong in her world and has master-level skill.

I know there was this magazine I read awhile back that had a story competition (meaning it was a one page story between the characters instead of just who would beat who) between Sailor moon and Card captor Sakura (I think sailor moon won). And another with Alucard(hellsing) and vampire hunter D. (I think alucard won...but can't remember.)

[spoiler] Nirvash is Alive and really don't NEED Renton to control him... I mean..he DOES but like... hmm how to explian...it's not just a machine that Renton pilots...it's a bit more complicated than that... >_> [/spoiler]

Personally, I'm still wondering whether Shishio or Enishi (Rurouni Kenshin) would win in a fight. XD

I'm suddenly blanking on all other characters. I'll revisit this thread. XD

In a battle between Osaka (Azumanga Daioh) and Pikachu, Osaka would win.

Saito Hajime vs. Fuhrer King Bradley. I'm tempted to think Saito has superior swordsmanship, but Bradley's got his own ace in the hole.

Let's see.......Shadow (Sonic X) vs Sasuke (Naruto)....In the battle of the EMO guys who would win?

[spoiler]I thought Nirvash was a GIRL. That was a definate female voice in the last episode. Though, truth be told, on several occassions they referred to Nirvash as "he"...though it may have been a slip or proof that the creators can't make up their minds![/spoiler]

I would love to see Renton (Eureka Seven) vs. Naota (FLCL). Why? Just because!

I would also love to see Ginji (GetBackers) vs. Pikachu (Pokemon). Why? Becuase they both use electric attacks, and I'm late with the light bill this month. ]

[color=royalblue]Just for laughs, I would love to see Dark Mousey (D.N.Angel) vs. Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) just to see how many short jokes Dark can come up with and Ed's hillarious reactions.

I want to see Kindaichi Hajime in a detective match against Kudo Shinichi. Heck, Hajime vs Kaitou Kid; it's true that Kindaichi does more murder-mystery stuff, but it'd be pretty fun regardless.

Dr. Jackal (Getbackers) vs. Ichimaru Gin (Bleach) - battle of the squinty-eyed dudes!!
Kenpachi (Bleach) vs. Gutts (Berserk) - battle of brute strength!!

Please also include the anime/manga the characters are from to make it easier for people who aren't that familiar with the names.

-ChristianKitsune, yeah I can see how the Nirvash does have an advantage over the Strike. I think Kira is a better fighter than those too, but of course you're only as good as your machine.

I agree with you, from the little I've seen of Naruto, Sakura does seem like a much weaker fighter than Maya when taken into context.

Though it is a regular feature in Anime Insider.

I think though it would be more interesting if the combatants were more equal.

For example Priss(Bubblegum Crisis) vs. Kiddy(Silent Mobius) would be a bit uneven simply because Kiddy has a cyborg body and is thus naturally stronger than Priss.What would make a better challenge would be Priss vs. Erika from
Virus Buster Serge as they both wear similiar type of suit.

That said I think Angel Lily vs. Sailor Mercury would be interesting as they have the same type of quiet personality.

Double KO, no casualties. Both of them are capable of losing so much blood and standing on their feet, but they also have a tendency of not dying. At some point the battlefield would be stained red and they'd collapse simultaneously and dramatically.

It's not a battle match, but I'd like to see Conan Edogawa(sp?) try to unravel the mystery of Dark's identity.

Haha, Conan/Shinichi could totally do it~ considering that he relies on brains and Dark relies on magic powaaz. The only reason Shinichi can't figure out KID's identity is because Kaito's just as smart. But of course, Shinichi has said before that he doesn't believe in the supernatural, so it'd be a hard stumbling block for him.

If I remember correctly; kinda like exactly what happened when Ichigo fought Kenpachi in the Bleach anime...

I'd love to see Toshiro Hitsugaya (Bleach) vs. Sesshomaru (InuYasha). The two characters most popular with girls in an all-out battle. My pick would be Toshiro, though.

Well, Dark's certainly not unintelligent. Still, the unbelief could definitely be a problem. You know, in the manga, I don't really see Dark using magic. But anyway...
