I don't know if ya'll seen this show yet but it's awesome. It's not really a Real anime but its cool. The show I'm talking about is Kappa Mikey.

Its about Mikey Simon,an young out-of-work american amature actor, who wins a trip to Japan to star in a Tokusatsu called Lilymu.

Once in japan, Mikey meets his fellow castmates: Gonard,a lovable baffoonish giant that becomes Mikey's best buddy; Lily,a loud, mean, and bossy blonde who hates mikey for stealing the spotlight from her{she stared in the show befor mikey came along}; Mitsuki a cute and sweet amazon who has a crush on mikey; and Guano,a Pikachu looka-like who writes and directs Lilymu. There is also the Big Boss,Ozu and his comical Yes man. You'll also spot some characters that are Parodys of your Anime Faves.

The show is currently airing on Nicktoons Network...catch it if you can, It's funny and enyoyable.

I don't get that channel, but I've seen clips on youtube of this show. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. I love how he's drawn in a different style than the other characters, and I love the fact that he's unable to do the anime-style facial expressions. XD

Honestly, I watched it when it first aired and I couldn't stop twitching. The art is terrible, especially since they're trying to sell it as "American anime." If you're gonna do anime, get some decent artwork. Also, it seemed like the creators took every cliche of anime and threw 'em all in there just to call it "anime." Not to mention that the plot of each episode felt essentially pointless. . .

Another problem I had were with the characters of Lily and Mitsuki. They're both a bit annoying and fangirlish. There's no balance between them since they're both pretty much the same. Fangirl characters are great, but if they don't have some type of "I'm-gonna-punch-you-in-the-face-if-you-don't-shut-up" character to balance them out, then there's just gonna be a lopsided mess.

However, I suppose it's a good series for younger kids. The simplicity of each episode would certainly be on their level of understanding; and I guess since it's structered like an American cartoon(save for the art) then it wouldn't differ too much from the other shows that they would most likely be watching.

The above was just my two cents. It's totally fine if you think Kappa Mikey is awesome(I mean hey, I think Avatar and Spongebob are pretty awesome).

Oh, let me also add that I've only seen a couple episodes and that was a really long time ago, so my opinion is based off of what I remember. Also, at the time I watched it, I was *very* hardcore about what exactly defined anime. I think I do remember seeing some funny things though. . .

LOL. YES! Kappa Mikey is awesome! At first swordguy and I were wondering if it was a show that we could get in to (we both kinda twitched for a bit...then we started to laugh our heads off). I laughed so hard when I figured out Gonard is voiced by the same guy who did Goku. ^_^

Gonard is probably my favorite character, due to his mannerisms and voice actor. I'm going to disagree with LadyRushia, though. I throughly enjoy this show, and I'm about to turn 20, so I'm by no means some little kid. It's not true anime, but it's very entertaining, and the way they poke fun at various anime cliches makes this show fun. I'll admit, at first, I thought it was more like an absurd trainwreck, but I grew a taste for it, and now I love it.

It's by no means the best thing ever (and it's not as good as the second and third seasons of Avatar), but it's still one of Nick's better shows.

Er... no.

They're selling at as an anime parody, which is exactly what it is.

Wow, random times, honestly. Seems to be on from 2-3 on the weekends. Nicktoons network is really inconsistent about scheduling and making said scheduling known...
