Well, heard different things on it airing in April and then in May and couldn't find ANYTHING on it, no info, no raws or anything stuck up. Then I found out in a couple forums that it's been canceled... Something about the series getting to be "too dark and violent" for the channel it airs on (as if a couple scenes from the first 2 seasons weren't violent enough or whatever) and yeah, apparently was canceled despite all the sites saying that it will air at this date or that date. Although apparently they CAN air the series but ONLY if they'll spend 50 grand an episode on it or whatever :/
Yup, doesn't look good :/ *sigh* I hate it when anime cancels out on the middle of things :/ Well in this case they were GOING to make another series, BUT....

Darn! I like tsubasa chronicles! Although I haven't been following the anime, the manga is very good. I can see why they would cancel it for becoming too dark and violent though. All I can figure is that a different CLAMP member took over the storyline, because volumes 12+ are a completely different (and better in my opinion) story. Of course they are also bloodier and gorier (is that even a word?).

And I wanted to see the new turn of events too v_v
Reminds me though, something about one reason their X manga went on hiatus in Japan was because they had some more violent themes planned or something that was a bit TOO much for the one publisher... At least, I think that was was one of the reasons.

Is this in Japan? So they are not going to finish the story?! I hope they at least finish out the manga! Thats what I keep up with...

I really wouldn't be surprised if it was cancelled. If all the whining at the Tsubasa fan boards is any indication, the series wasn't very well recieved. (they HATED season 2). and yes, from what I've heard, the violence reaches almost X like levels in later volumes, so there would definitly be a lot of toning down for the later episodes.
However, from what I can tell, this whole "cancelled" thing is just a rumor that's going around. I don't think any official sources, like Beetrain or NHK, have said anything about season 3 yet one way or the other. One of the forum members at capturewings.net posted something from a japanese blogger who attended a CLAMP related event where they said an announcment about xxxHolic and Tsubasa was forthcoming. speculation is running about if this could be related to the anime series. see here.

Hm well according to the forums I went to, they were fairly certain that they heard straight from some type of NHK new source. One topic even got CLOSED because the mod felt that it was such official news, that the discussion should just end with "it's not gunna happen". :/

Not sure if this was announced in another topic, but i'll post it here.
According to Anime News Network (
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=8292) and the updated wiki article for Tsubasa, Production IG is going to be releasing a 3 episode Tsubasa OVA to cover the Tokyo world arc of the manga. One episode is going to be included as an extra with volumes 21, 22, and 23 of the manga. Hopefully they'll do another OVA/season after this, to finish up the story.

Wow that doesn't sound too good for the series :/ That's alot to cram into only 3 episodes, but then again some OVA eps can last for up to 45 minutes (like Rayearth). And now getting IG instead of Bee Train, which will, well how knows how the animation will be^^ Probably have a more "serious" tone to it, like the Rayearth anime. Can't remember who did the movie but I'm guessing something like that. Still, ouch, very ouch :/

Production IG animated the Tsubasa and xxxHolic movies, so it shouldn't be that different than the TV show animation. I think the OVA is a good idea in one sense, because it means the animators won't have to worry about toning down the content (I heard the Tokyo arc is uber violent. Everyone at capturedwings was worried about it being butchered for TV) I too am a little worried about how they'll fit all of that arc into only three episodes (from what I've read, it seems like the Tokyo arc lasted a LONG time in the manga. It starts in volume 14) but I'm still gald that they will be animating it. I wonder who will licence these OVAs.

FUNI... FUNI... and maybe... oh, FUNI^^ Violence has nothing to do with the licenses, really. I can see them taking on the OVAs since they already have the others. It's not exactly Ninja Scroll or Gantz.

I love tsubasa. Although i haven't seen the anime yet I have read all the manga. (i own 1-7) It can't stop!

I agree I think of 1-12 as HAPPY tusbasa and the rest as dark tsubasa. But it was planned from the begginning. Because Kurogame was sent to a different world because he killed to many people. And you understand why when you see his past.
