What is your oppinions on this anime? I've heard that it's good, but also kind of repetative? Is it at least "interesting?"
(I Know my questions can be construed as vague)
Thank you.

It's one of my favorite series. On the surface it just looks like "Batman with mecha," but once you pay attention for a while, you see that it's actually full of much deeper themes about destiny, free will, and how we're shaped by our memories and experiences.
But I must warn you in advance not to expect any answers from the ending.

Personally, I preferred the First season to the second, but without giving spoilers I can't really say why. That's not to say it wasn't good, but merely that it took a different track than what I thought they were doing with the First season.
I highly enjoyed this series. It's not really repetative, but there is a bit of the 'villain du'jour' syndrome. The story is enjoyable and I say give it a go and see what you think.

The entire concept is really interesting and Dorothy has to be one of the most interesting female characters in anime, even though she is an android.
I think one of the more interesting questions is wheter or not Paradigm City is supposed to represent New York City. It's one of the questions that makes the entire series so interesting.

Is is true that the first season was on Toonami but the second was fit on AdultSwim?

The first season was edited to fit on Toonami. At the time, there was no Adult Swim.
When Cartoon Network did the co-production for season two, it was put on Adult Swim.
Big O aired in April 2, 2001 on Toonami. Adult Swim programing started in Aug of that year.
Season two, ep 14 aired on Adult Swim on Aug 3, 2003.

I would categorize it as "interesting." Batman the Anime is pretty good, too, although I'm not sure if that means anything to a South African or not.

Big O was good, yet it confused me, as do most things in the world. It doesn't have a lot of "in-your-face" comedy, but it does have it's moments which prevents it from being completely boring.
I have always wondered, though, if the Megaduce and the ThunderMegaZord were made by the same people? I mean, they look almost identical!

The Big O was a brilliant concept because it took a bunch of things that were really awesome, and made them one thing.
Batman, James Bond, film noir, and giant robots.
As many have said, the two seasons have quite a different feel. The first season is comprised of mostly 1-episode stories that center around mystery and such, while the second season has more of a continuous story and gets quite metaphysical and crazy. Personally, I liked the series as a whole, and I'd highly recommend it.

Only thing that makes me wary of the series is some people's complaints that the ending (at the 2nd season) is too confusing. Is it really that bad?

I've heard good things about the series. Not a giant robot fan myself (nor the usual brand of children who pilot them with greater finesse than all their military-trained enemy cannon fodder), but this Anime caught my attention with a decidedly different take on the mech plot device. I mean, Batman-esque film noir with giant robots? Sure, why not?
I generally have an easier time dechiphering notoriously confusing plots, so I'll watch the whole series with "Fresh eyes" and see if I can make sense of the whole thing.

Yes and no. The ending is definitely bizarre, no doubt about it, but if you look at the major themes of the show (which I won't spoil here), it makes perfect sense. Really, it just challenges you to think. Just pay close attention to the recurring theme throughout the second season, and the ending should be easier to handle.

Knowing your tastes in movies are somewhat similar to mine, I would say you would like Big O.
I think I would like it too, though I haven't actually watched much of it.

I have Big O and like it very well. Haven't seen the second series, and I've heard it was more americanized than the first, but I would recommend the first to you, since I've seen it. It isn't my favorite series in the world, but there are several eps. that amazed me. I also loved the intrigue of Dorothy and thought there was a lot to the series beyond first impressions.

Big O was slated to be a full 26 ep show. They did the first 13 eps and then do the rest later.
Big O wasn't very big hit in Japan at the time, but when the 13 eps were aired on Toonami and other parts of the world.
It got a postive fan response that Cartoon Network, Sunrise, and Bandai Visual went into together and did the co-production for season two.
The big reason why Big O looks alot like Batman:TAS, its becasue the same studio that did Big O, also did Batman:TAS.

Yeah, stuff like Batman and Justice League Unlimited makes me wonder why I care about anime.

Anyone else taken the personality quiz at Paradigm City?I've taken it several times and come out in general as a combination of Dorothy and Roger.
