full metal panic

ok so i was looking into buying this series but from what i have read it sounds like it has a LOT of fanservice. obviously if it has as much fanservice in it as i read then i dont want to buy it. It has a great plot to it and it looks like it would be a great series. i really want to watch it but if its really that bad then i wont buy it. so for those of you who have seen this show is it really that bad in fanservice?

also since i have a feeling yall are going to confirm that it is that bad, do you have any suggestions of anime you thought was a good series and had little to no fanservice in it? i already have fruba and have watched anything on CN and the funi channel if that helps any. :p

I absolutely LOVE full metal panic. But there is some fanservice. Most of the fanservice is found only in full metal panic: fomuffu (which is kind of like the second season, no real plot but its all just comedy). The first season and the "real" second season (FMP: The Second Raid) don't have much fanservice.

well that is good to hear because i wasnt looking to buy fomuffu. but another question would be that the little that it does have in the first season, is it really bad?

The fan service in Full Metal Panic! itself is pretty limited. There's much more in Full Metal Panic? Fumofuu.

Fomuffu is really funny though. I had to pause soooooo many times just to laugh. And I laughed for like 10 minutes nonstop XD

Anyway but the fanservice is pretty raunchy. You should check out The Second Raid once it comes up.

Erk, wish I had been in this thread earlier. I just did a marathon run two weeks ago on Full Metal Panic, and there's quite a bit of nudity in the last two episodes that I had totally forgotten about. The fanservice overall isn't bad, but those last two episodes caught me off-guard, and actually caused some minor issues with some of the people watching with me.
Embraced by a gentle breeze, my heart breaks as I think of you.
All alone at the top of the hill, I watch as the seasons go by.

Oh yeah those. They were all barbie-doll like and had virtually no detail. Infact they were ghost-like figures almost.

Btw its not a perverted scene either.

yah dont worry about it the first show is pretty much made for tv I heard the 2nd raid is really about the action and is ten times more serious and fummoffu is just a way to put some of the funny back into the series it dosnt have much to do with the story line but it does have some nice character development and it is so funny I cant help but falling off my bed rolling around so much in laughter, also the books are good too.

well i bought it and it didnt have half as much fanservise as i was expecting....there was an ep where they spent almost the entire episode in the bathtub (i think someone warned me bout that one before hand) im speaking of course of the first season. anyways i really liked the anime and im looking into buying the second raid if i ever catch up on some other things i need to use my paycheck for. lol

You don't have to worry to much with that. You have some time to save for FMP: second raid.

The first vol doesn't come out untill Nov 14 of this year and vol two will be release in Jan of next year.
