Deidara...boy or girl?

So...I think Deidara's a guy, but some people say he's a girl.
What are your opinions?

The only Deidara I can think of is the character from Naruto
and that one is a male.
Which is odd cause at first I thought it was a girl XD

Deidara is male...
A few early scanlations made an error and translated him as female.

Deidara sounds like a girl's name to me, but I don't watch Naruto, so I can't really comment here. XD;

The picture's fixed, sorry. XD And yes, Deidara is from Naruto.
The thing is, there are people 100% convinced he's a girl, and others are 100% convinced he's a guy..... And I think he's cute.
So this could be a major problem. XD;;;

Looks like a guy to me, although the name does sound like a girl. I've only seen a few eps of Naruto, so I can't really give a solid opinion.

According to wikipedia:
Due to the Japanese language's sparse use of third person pronouns, translators have to use their own ideas of Deidara's gender to make sentences flow smoothly. This has caused a lot of confusion, since both "he" and "she" are used to refer to Deidara. However, Deidara speaks of himself using male pronouns and has been given a very deep, male voice in the anime.

The combination of the feminine name with the hairstyle, non-gender specific features, and nailpolish is enough to throw anyone off, imo. XD
This confused me for quite a while while reading the manga. (I have no tv on which to watch the show and can't download it, so there was no help on that front.) I think the revelation that Deidara is indeed male came while looking through Naruto fanart. lol
