Anyone Remember Pilot Candidate?

Just as the title says: Does anyone remember this short, yet great anime? It only lasted for 6 episodes, and it is in manga format, but anyone remember when it was on Adult Swim about 5 or 6 years ago? Here's a picture to jog your memory:
The guy being held back is named Zero Enna--the title character. I forget the name of the guy holding him, and the lone wolf in the back, but the guy in the foreground is named Arts.

I agree this is a great series.I didn't see it when it was on AS but I do have the DVD of the first three episodes. It's alternate title is Candidate For Goddess. In the dub two of the main characters were played by Joshua Seth and Michelle Ruff.Though I think they used their aliases of Jeremiah Freeman and Georgette Rose.I just recently saw the subbed version of the first episode and had as much fun watching as I did with the dub.
Recommended if you can find it.

This is one of the first anime I watched on DVD. I really liked it, but the way it ended seemed like someone thought it would go for 13 episodes (or longer) and the funding got pulled at 5, so the last episode was all smashed together.
I remember a particular scene where the main character whispers into the ear of his ground-assistant (a cat or fox eared girl) what he thinks she can do to help him get in shape and lose weight. She is so offended by this her ear actually twitches when she hears it.
I thought to myself, "Wow, now that is attention to detail...this anime stuff is pretty cool." I went back to the library to see what else they had; this happened to be Neon Genesis Evangelion. O.o

Pilot Candidate (Megami Koushei) LOOKED like an expensive anime to produce. It was 99% CG! It looked very well animated, very polished, very sharp and clean...
I'm willing to bet one episode cost over $50,000!

Uh, the ep count is 12 and all 12 did air at one point.
And they in 2003, they made ova ep that was ep and it ended the story. But it was never aired and never release in the States.

I wonder why they went under aliases?

My bad, mis-counted. However, I think my point stands that this thing was cut short.

Ep 12 didn't really end the story, though it gave the end of the series more a sense of closure, if that makes sense at all. I was glad it was there, though. o.o

It was kinda funny that Zero was picked to pilot an Ingrid by the Ingrid itself even though he has a tendency to space sickness.

It kinda echo's of Neon Genesis Evangelion in a way...not that I'm discussing it or anything...heh...heh... ANYWAY, Does anyone remember what the heck Victim was?!

All I know from the first three episodes, was that it was some kind of space creature that was attacking the human colonies and that Zero was from one of the colonies it attacked.

Yeah. I remember! The white ingrid was the one that saved him! That's why he wanted to become a pilot! Zero is kinda like Tai from Digimon and Asuka from NGE. The whole series in fact echoes Eva on even more fronts in that the pilots have to be teenagers of a certain age and blood type in order to command/pilot the ingrids. There's also a Gendo/Shinji kind of thing going on with the commander of the fleet and the pilot of the white ingrid (Who happens to be the only female pilot--all females are repairers)

Ah yes...Kizna (SP?) she is, far and away, the CUTEST catgirls I've ever seen! I thought it was so funny the way she hid her cute little ears under the hat. It's obvious that, given the time (IE more Episodes) Zero and Kizna would've developed more of a relationship beyond Pilot and Repairer.

*smack forehead*
You're right. I did find out that the OVA is just a retelling of the story. As the ending, ep 12 wasn't as Kokoro Daisuke said not the real end of the story.
I did some checking up on this and found out that the person that did PC had it plan for like 26 eps, but it was cut short. I heard that in Japan, the anime wasn't hated, but it wasn't fully love too and the cost for 3D anime was too much for them to keep doing more eps. I think they ran out of money if I remember.

Not suprising--the graphics were ABSOLUTELY beautiful! So crisp and clean--like I said below, each episode HAD to cost at LEAST five grand to produce!

I THINK they did...but I can't really be sure--the series was short...I think they DID air all of them (All the ones that were made, anyway) I would give my copy of "Star Trek The Motion Picture" to see that anime again!:?:
