Tsubasa Chronicles

So far, I have seen all of Cardcaptor Sakura, all of Chobits, read some of the manga on Tsubasa Resevior Chronicle, and seen all of Tsubasa Chronicle 1st season sub and 2nd season subs. (Now I just need to see/read Holic). What's everyone's thoughts on it so far? I think it will become a great anime/manga seeing as it fits into the many different anime genres and can go great with almost any music for an anime music video.

Looking around though, it doesn't seem to be discussed much, so I thought about putting this thread up. Discuss your thoughts here. (I guess... xD)

The manga's wonderful, but the anime moves at such a horrible pace that it's hard to watch. I also strongly dislike the Bee Train character designs. But my biggest complaint is the excessive filler when they could just be folllowing the actual storyline.

The only thing I like about the anime is the music. They have yet to make a bad piece of BGM for that series.

Actually...Well, I guess it's an alright series. As Splitter said, the music is really good in the anime, and I thought the anime was doing a pretty good job (I only watched up to episode 14 or something..XD; ), but honestly, I find the story somewhat...boring. *is shot* XD I enjoy the CLAMP character cameos, and Fai is pretty much one of the best characters in many CLAMP series, but I just can't bring myself to read it further (past vol. 4, in other words). I don't know if this has something to do with the storyline or with the insane price of the manga, but whatever it is, it's just...not my favorite series, I suppose. XD;

I'm still watching/reading through it since well, I started it and all and have gotten far into it to just stop now^^ That's my way of thinking. I think in the anime at least (haven't gotten ahold of vol. 9+ in the manga yet) the development of the plot and characters is slowly getting there. Yeah, lots of pointless mini-arcs and all, but that's sort of how the series is: one that's almost "allowed" to have fillers. Heck, the manga even had a filler that didn't appear on the anime (the one with the little furry creatures). I just wanna know how it'll all end now^^

"Filler" is an episode/chapter/etc. that wastes time and distracts from the main plot of the story.

(Hahahaha. Actually, a filler is a episode or story arc that has nothing to do with the main plot, and the purpose is to wait while the main plot (such as with manga - you have to wait while the manga story progresses if you get ahead of it) catches up.)

Right. Not all filler is bad (though it does have a reputation for that); some anime have very entertaining filler episodes.

I hope this thread isn't too old to dig up...

I love this show! I agree with the people who have said that they like Fai/Fye/Fay (I wish someone would please just make an offical name for him!!), he's an adorable character. I absolutely love him. I've never read the manga, so I can't really compare.

Do any of you have favorite world so far? I'm only on episode 18, but I really loved their outfits in that snowy colonial-ish place. That Dr. Kyle dude in that world looked like Eriol. :P

Dude, you're right! Haha... he cracked me up. He was ultra, ultra, innocent acting when they first started to figure out he was a bad guy, and then when they finally did he got a real mean expression. That guy was funny. Minus the whole... kidnapping children and trying to get the feather for himself thing. Okay, maybe he needs to work on his personality a little. XD

I'm pretty sure it's Fai. XD Not only did the subs I watched call him that, but Del Rey has translated it as Fai D. Flowright, too. So yeah, that's the one I always go with when referring to him. XD

Okay, that makes sense. XD The fansub I calls him "Fye" sometimes, but I think they say "Fai" too, so it always confuses me lol.

Both the manga and anime are wonderful. I'm slightly behind in the manga and very behind in the anime, though. I haven't had the money or time to get the new volumes of the manga (past nine), and the file of whatever episode in the first season (somewhere around 10, give or take) I was on was corrupted, no other was available, and then the computer I was using died, and I haven't had the chance to go about getting any of it again. I will at SOME point.

I agree that the manga is better. Besides, like many of my favorite series, the anime stops after a point (the library part I think...) and the manga continues... BTW, Tsubasa also crosses over with Magic Knight Rayerth (Makona)

(CronoShinobi, Tsubasa crosses over with just about every CLAMP title possible.)

That's so true I was reading MKRE and realize the spirits in that as people's kudan. It closes over mostly from CCS and Holic. It steals the art sytle from holic. But what clamp really like to do it just but in random people from other clamp stuff, since they go to different world so much.
