I was thinking about this earlier (It's amazing what you think of when you have a stomach virus):

Do you think the Fullmetal Alchemist millitary crew (Mostly Mustang and Hawkeye) would have what it takes to run a starship like on Star Trek?

Mustang and Kirk share quite a few attributes, and Hawkeye does strike me as the logical, (Semi) Unemotional Spock type. What do you think?

No. One of the alchemists would "accidentally" turn the entire ship's hull into cheese. Gruyere. Not good.

I am the King of Cheese and I would not let that happen >.>

There's also the slight difficulty that none of them know the slightest thing about running a starship...

Assuming that they DID...do you think they'll survive on an Enterprise?

I doubt it would take him that long to learn.

Well, maybe. But strictly speaking, since alchemy (in the historical sense) is related to Astrology, the signs of the Zodiac might complicate their alchemy on planets where the stars signs are wildly different. For instance, the Flame Alchemist might end up producing shortcake. Not very handy in a life or death situation. This might be a clever diversion - the enemy creatures might end up eating it while they get away.

Off course Fullmetal Alchemist does not work in the historical sense of alchemy, but problems might occur anyway.
