Wolf's Rain ending... (SPOILERS)

Alright, I just finished Wolf's Rain last night, and I have some questions. I definitely can't say I liked the ending. From what I can tell their definition of Paradise seems to be the world starting over time and time again. More so, it's like everyone dies and is reborn in the new world. It appeared like the main characters didn't even know each other anymore. Does this mean everything that happened before is completely meaningless now? Kiba also continues to say he feels drawn to Paradise and someone is calling him there. Who is calling him? Will he ever find the real Paradise? Or are we just left to assume for ourselves? Please give me a detailed explanation of the ending of this anime, I'd really like to fully understand what happened, what will happen, and what point was trying to be made.

This is like...the third thread I've seen on this. It seems to me if so many people have so much trouble understanding the ending, then the series isn't worth watching...just my opinion, though.

Thanks, though that seems to be mear speculation. Isn't there a way I can figure out what REALLY happened?

I don't think it is. But honestly, that'd be the only way to find out exactly what happened, is talk to the writers. Anything else is mere speculation.

The ending's just not satisfying, I can tell you that.

I can already tell you how it ends. The wolves magically transform into people and shoot some bad guys in a sweet, killer gunfight and then they ride off in their Ford Ranchero to a better place. Very satisfying ending. :thumb:

Er... right... :eyeroll:

But yeah, the ending is sort of left up to the fans. What would you like the ending to mean? Whatever the writers intended, theres no clear way for everyone else to think the same thing. Its kind of vague, so you interpret it how you want. In a way, endings like that all the fans are happy because they can interpret the ending so it ends how they had hoped or would like. Does that make sense?

Anyway... I won't be here Thursday, so Happy Thanksgiving!

I loved Wolf's Rain passionately...until the ending, which disappointed me so much I can't bear to watch the series any more. I can't stand "reset button" endings (ironic this should come up, given another thread currently on the board). If they had just shown Blue in the new world, I would have been able to take it. (I really liked Blue.) But she wasn't there, which means she truly wasn't good enough, being only half wolf, and that just torques me off.

I seriously did not interpret the ending like that. Nobody in the group made it to the gate all the way, except darcia, who wasnt really in the group. And he metled and stuff. I saw it like this:

Darcia destroyed the gate to paradise, so the group was taken back to before they met to once again make the pilgrimage. Simple as that. I dont know, maybe im completely off...but...
