CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Ghost Stories is from ADV films. I got the first episode on a demo dvd from Newtype magazine.

Well the english version of the show has at least one drastic change. One character is a christian. You heard me write, a christian. When you first learn about this it's funny as well as shocking. I was getting excited about it until I finished the show. I felt that the character was just to make fun of the idea of a christian on an anime show or to create new conversation that was not in the original script.

I was just wondering, if anybody else who has seen it, what is their opinion of this? Are you offended or do you think it is good?

Acutaly ive read about it in a NewType Magazinge i got it looks pretty cool.

yeah it's an interesting story line for an anime. But what is your take one the christian girl added by the american dubbed?

My take? It sucks. I hated ADV as it was, but they may have crossed the line this time. But in what way did they make fun of her? Was it implied, or shoved in your face?

I read somewhere that they though the Japanese dialogue wasn't that great, so changed it. So things like the Christian dealy was just an ADV add-on :/

in this anime however, the orginal diolague was :first girl: "it's a picture of my mom" second girl" that woman, she looks like this woman that took care of me when i was in the hospotal years back"

American dub: first girl "why do all teachers look like lesbians? What? MOM"
Second girl" when i was in this program to change lesbians back to straight there was this woman who was my patient. That looks like her.

SEE WHAT I MEAN?
