DragonBall A-Z (Plus A Poll)

Anything in the three series discussed here, plus a Poll asking which one you enjoyed the best of the 3 series.
Does anyone know how much Uncut will be covered on Cartoon network. Is DragonBall and DragonBall GT ever shown on Cartoon Network ever? They should show it at 10:30 after "One Piece" on saturdays since I got to bed before 10:30 during the schoolyear.

Dragonball Z is by far my favorite DB series. It's the first I've watched, and my favorite. I personally think the battles are better, and the fights are more entertaining. In GT, Goku is always playing around which can get a bit annoying. Plus, Vegeta's attitude is much cooler in the Z saga. Also, the random jokes are better. LIke the time Vegeta had to wear a pink shirt (Trunks Saga). I didn't expect to see that.

I find Dragon Ball to be the best of the three. I dunno why. I guess I liked the idea of a kid being the strongest thing in the world. The tournaments were my favorite.

I've said this before... but I suppose I'll say it again. I feel that Dragonball Z is the best, and if I am honest with myself it is for one reason: Toriyama isn't funny, and neither is humor inspired from his style (please note that this is only my opinion). Therefore, Dragonball Z has the least humor.
I also think the arcs are more imaginative and I prefer the more serious storylines. All three series are overextended, but Dragonball GT is even more so than Z, and the extensions in Dragonball annoy me far more.

Would it make better since if Draganball GT came before Dragonball Z- alphabetically and all.
I wonder what the "Z" and "GT" represent, if there's a meaning at all.

GT - Grand Tour
Z - Toriyama liked this soda with the name "Z" in it. So... yeah. (I'm serious. I THINK it's a soda...)

While I like them equally (Original and Z), I enjoyed the original the best. More my type of anime.
Don't know about GT, seen very little of it.

I'm guessing they will likely run through the entire series uncut till the end. Perhaps they will even do the same with GT. Cartoon Network realizes that the average DBZ fan is well within the 15+ crowd so they are beginning to cater the airing of the series more to the demographic by now showing it uncut.
However, I would still say it is unlikely that DB Orignal will be ever shown uncut. It's got a lot of risque stuff in it. Unless it were actually shown on Adult Swim, no uncut for CN is expected.

DBZ. I liked it most from the time Vegeta came to Earth to destroy it to the end of the Great Sayjaman thing and then the story concerning Buu and Bibidi and Kai and whatever comes into play. I would have to say the Android and Cell Arc have to be my favorite amoung that.

Yeah, DragonBall would definately be rated at least TV 14. When I was little, I bought the original manga......I like how in America comic books have ratings and I find it stupid how they can take hentai and mix it with childish humor...the Bulma scene.....ewwwww
Do you guys know what Bulma said she`d let Goku do if he handed over his dragonball?......
I thought GT was Grand Tornament....
Just to let you know, most people think DragonBall Z is the only one of the trilogy so obviously it`s the most popular. Did you here they`re making a live action movie for it? ugh.
15+?! Yo buddy, I`m 14 and in case you didn`t know 70% of the people who wach the "Y7" version are little kids who are clueless to the plot amd like the action like when I was 5 and I was into Star Wars. Ok maybe not 70% but you get it.
DragonBall Stuff is loosing it`s popularity in America. I love DBZ but It`s only gonna be on during the schoolweek
We`ll see how popualr the show is during the weekdays). Does anyone agree with my One Piece idea?

I don't think that Dragonball is necessarily loosing popularity... I mean it's been showing on TV since I was in 6th grade (KidsWB) then became popular when it started to show on Cartoon Network when I was in about the 8th grade. I'm a Junior in College now; that's a good 7yrs (at least). So I think it's more a fact people have already seen the show mulitiple times rather then become unpopular...
One Piece. Well I haven't seen too many episodes because I'm always at work so I can't really judge.

I picked Dragonball Z based solely on the Buu Saga. This was by far the most enjoyable section of Dragonball for me. I enjoyed all of the stuff that happened before Buu arrived - the tournaments, the whole Great Seyaman thing, and Vadel – easily the most likable DB character. That group of episodes actaully had an enjoyable story whose plot actually moved along at a reasonable pace.

Dragonball GT:The Missing Episodes.
I loved the way that adding cut material from the original airing and the
addition of extra episodes turned it into a far better series from what it
was originally.
btw:Thanks to G4 I can now watch DBZ:Uncut Mon.-Th.at 10:30 now.
This is what I think of G4's new line up:
Any way back on topic,I think the current storyline where Bulma,Krillin
and Gohan go searching for the Dragonballs on Planet Nemek is pretty
close to the first part of the DBGT storyline.

Yeah, I`ve been watching it Mon-Thurs. at 10:30 since the battle with Goku, Piccolo vs. Raditz but now I can`t watch it anymore and this is my last Mon-Thurs. I can watch it since school is starting up and I have to hit the sack at 10. Remember guys, I`m 14.
How many years gap DragonBall and DragonBall Z? Goku looks the same age hwne it starts but I forgot how old Gohan was when it started.
Also, I can`t imagine Nappa being a threat. I mean, c`om, did you guys see all those people on the ground dead because of the guy?! Leet`s see Buu or Nappa? I remember I was in a forum site talking about this and I said one line that everyone put in their signature:
"What would Nappa look like if he was a Super Sayain?"
I just have thing to say. One thing that freakin aggrivates me is one single fight could take up to 12 episodes.
I can see a DragonBall X in the future.....even though GT wrapped it up they could think of something.

I think it has been a bit too long for a Dragonball X... but then again, perhaps not. It would sell commerically, and that worked for Dragonball Z.
agasfas wrote:Would it make better since if Draganball GT came before Dragonball Z- alphabetically and all.
Perhaps you meant to phrase that differently? It doesn't make a great deal of sense to me as it is.

Dragonball X: Narrator: "It has been years since Goku defeated Omega Shenron and saved the earth. Since then, he has passed on. Since that time, there have no new threats." *Screen shows peaceful scenery, and then we see an older Pan. Pan is calling for someone. Suddenly, we see a small Goku walk up* "Goku Jr." Pan says, "Where have you been? Master Roshi has called for you. Go to his island, and be quick."
"Okay, Grandma Pan." Goku Jr. says as he flies toward Roshi's island. (Remember, Roshi will live for a long time, so he's still alive).
Goku Jr. lands on Roshi's island, where he sees the Kame House on fire, and a dark figure outside it. "Bring the 7 Dragonballs to this place" The menacing being says as he drops a map. "I want them in 24 hours, or else!!" The figure flew off.
Goku Jr. knows what he must do.
Narrator: "What adventures await Goku Jr. as he gathers the 7 Dragonballs? Find out on Dragonball X!!!"
--- End ---
I just made that all up XD. Dragonball X was rumored to be at one time, but it was a hoax.

It's not like death means a whole lot to DB characters. Upon death, they are just transported to some out ofthe way place, like New Jersey.

Or the hall of losers or whatever they call hell in that show.
I could assume it could be a show where Goten is about 40 resembling Vegeta and just about everyone in the word forgot about the people with fighting abilities and the dragonBalls cease to exist on earth. Then, a powerful overlord that was higher than Frieza comes to destroy every planet. A creature far more powerful than the Omega Shenrom and Goten has to train several children the art of ..... martials? Or JC Penny?

I would probably have to say DragonBall. It wasn't like DragonBall Z where it was just fighting and super sayin stuff the whole time.It was funny. And Tom Dintch was it DragonBall that you were talking about that had Hentei?

I liked the exploration and discovery in the original Dragonball... All the fighting gets to be a pain. The early portion of of GT was about exploration and discovery, too... Therefore Z is my least favorite... I HAVE seen pretty much all of Z, though... WHich is really sad. So much of my life wasted (I saw from the end of the Frieza saga until the end of the show, minus maybe like 15-20 episodes, not much...)
I didn't even really like teh show... My friend was obsessed, It was the only thing on TV at the time, and it was addictive... I never liked it, though...

That wouldn't work. At the VERY END of GT, they show that Pan is now an old woman, and her grandson is Goku Jr. The other Z Fighters are long dead. (I know my DB history lol)

I think that there's at least 8 to 10 years between Dragonball ending and the
start of Dragonball Z.Remember at the end of Dragonball Goku and Chi
Chi have just gotten married, but by the time Dragonball Z comes around
Gohan is at least 7 years old.
So if they were married at least a year or two before Gohan was born
that would make it pretty close to around 8 years between series.
But that is a guess.
On the other hand Dragonball GT probably takes place about 13 years
after the ending of DBZ as it's clear that Pan is at least that old when
DBGT begins. Also there's a space of time between the two shows since
Goku says he hasn't been home for a long while and Chi Chi will be mad
at him if he doesn't get back soon.
In the case between DBZ and DBGT it appears that Goku hasn't been
around since Pan was a little girl since he's surprised how much she's
grown when he meets her in his juvenile form.
In this case it's because he has been spending most of his time training
Uub.

Somewhat confused... wasn't Goku still dead at the end of DBZ? Or did he come back right at the end?

Gohan is SUPPOSED to be 4&1/2 years old at the start of Z, but Funi messed ti up and said he was 6 (If you look at a timeline, that doesnt make sense.). And between Z & GT, it was supposedly 5 years, but that doesn't make sense, seeing as Pan seems older than 9 at the start of GT... so, yeah. It should be 5 years...

Yokuo: Who said that it had to take place after DBGT ended....
I know my DB history as well. I mean there was a huge gap between when they defeated Omega Sheron and when Pan was an old lady.
Keep in mind I only saw one DBGT saga, the Baby one.

I've never seen Dragon Ball or GT, but I really like Z. I've read the entire Dragonball Manga, and I'll have to say I enjoyed the "DBZ" part better than the Dragonball. I really like Toriyama's art style....it seems different than most anime/manga art. Does anyone own the season sets that are currently being released? Probably the most affordable way to own the series. I'm enjoying them (especially seeing them in Japanese). They're especially nice if you own a widescreen TV......picture quality is amazing.
I think my favorite characters are Piccolo and Vegeta.

I like dbz the most because of the storyline.my favorite storyline is the Trunks,Android and Cell saga.the order of the three series I prefer is:
Dragon Ball Z
Dragon Ball GT
Dragon Ball
I know that dbgt didn't have a good storyline, but I just prefer it over db.

Ordered from best to ok.
1. Dragon Ball Z (The absolute best.)
2. Dragon Ball (Very good.)
3. Dragon Ball GT (Ok.)
I thought GTs storyline was not as original compared to Z and DB. But I still like GT anyway because it's still Dragon Ball. And please don't ask me why I like this show so much because Im trying suppress my inner fan boy thoughts-Oh man that was so cool! I just can't wait to see the next episode!- Too late...
Ive seen every episode by the way, I was just playing around.
