Anybody remember these? I remember they used to run on the Christian Broadcast Network and on Trinity Broadcast Network, back in the 80s and early 90s, I believe.
I looked them up once, when explaining them to friends... they were orignally made in the early 1980s, where they aired in Japan - and they were dubbed into all kinds of languages.
Anyway, both were children's animes produced by CBN as an outreach to the Japanese people, using the popular medium of anime. CBN uses these, I believe, still, as an outreach to children all over the world. They were animes for kids, after all.
Both had cute, goofy robots... Flying House involved a scientist and his time-traveling flying house, in which he and a group of children were traveling to Biblical times and locations, forever trying to get home. (If I remember the plot right. It's been a LOOOOOOONG time since I've seen any of it). Superbook was about these two children and a magic Bible that transported them to Biblical times. There was a plot (I think in the second season) where the main little boy's character's dog got lost in Superbook and he and the little girl were constantly chasing it down, while running into Biblical figures and witnessing Biblical events first-hand.
