I get newtype USA every month, on import from the states, you get a free sample dvd of animes every month too, i dunno of any other mags, so i cant help much beyond this.

Newtype USA is a good one, but it is costly.

New-Type USA is good if you want to spend $90+ on a 12 issue magazine subscription, or just want to check out the latest stuff (each issue has a free previews dvd). But if that doesn't seem like the right choice for you, I'd recommend Anime Insider. It's cheap, easy to pick up, and not as wordy as New-Type USA.

I used to read Newtype, but I have a self-imposed moratorium on new series to preserve some semblance of a budget until my finances improve. Besides getting tempted by all the new show previews, it *is* expensive (tho' the DVD is worth it -- I was very irritated with them when they went DVD-less for awhile), so I figure it's better for me to stay out of magazines until I'm actually ready to start a new addiction.

I used to get Animerica--well, I say "get" as in "pick up a copy at the local bookstores whenever it featured a series I liked." I wasn't too pleased with it, though, so I'm not really sure if I could recommend it. Their articles were a wee bit shallow, and their reviews were awful.

Anime Insider is mine too. We need more mags that give free DVD previews (and not ones that are cleverly disguised house organs)

Newtype is way overpriced. Animerica and Anime Insider are *ok* from the few issues I've read of each. It's at least entertaining if not always really informative.
