Elaborate?

Edit: I get it. Am I really missing anything by seeing the cut versions?

was riveting, and in general I'm getting the feeling that Trigun is one of the greatest animes I've seen in a while. Once it's over I'm going to embark on the road to Otakudom. =D Great show, and I'm really looking forward to the finale. It should be spectacular.

That's my favorite part of the entire series. I love ethical dilemmas.

I thought they did it well. They could have opted for a 'dramatic' slow motion, etc., but I thought the way it was just 'bang and drop' was much more powerful. It jarred me, and I think that's what they were after. Kudos to them, whoever 'them' is. =)

Well, tonight's the big night.

Something that was a little unclear in last night's episode... It's probably nothing that's vital to know for the story, but I'm a little unclear what they were getting at.
In the scene where Meryl rescues Vash and he sees Rem in her... Most likely it was simple sentimentalism on the part of Vash, finding in Meryl one of the qualities that so attracted him to Rem. A few alternative possibilities, though:
- Rem actually was able to escape and make it onto the planet when the ship crashed, and began a new life as Meryl. (Unlikely, since unlike Vash and Knives, Rem was human.)
- Meryl was Rem reincarnated. (Could be as one of those things where the viewer is left to draw their own conclusions, but considering the philosophical consistency with Christianity throughout the rest of the series it's doubtful that would be the only possible answer.)
- Meryl was Rem's daughter who was harvested through Project SEEDS (maybe not, but my personal favorite)
Any thoughts?

Well, I once read an impossibly sappy fanfiction based on your second theory. I personally think he just saw Spoiler in her when she basically quoted her. If you want to read the fanfic, I can dig up the link.

Project SEEDS? Am I ever going to get the info that you guys apparently all possess by watching the show or do you have other sources? (Manga version, Maximum, etc.) SEEDs was never explained! (At least in the first 25 eps. I haven't watched the last yet.

I never got to tape ep. 26. :( For some reason, the recording wasn't set right. I bet it had something to do with the cable dying for a second.

Yes, but it didn't explain the technical aspect of SEEDs, did it?

And now I've seen all of Trigun. I give it a 4/5, I think, although the last ep was a letdown. It was as if they saw they only had one show left in the season and decided to wrap everything up. >_<

Aw, well that's sad. I wonder if I would have thought the same had I come into it without knowing anything. Personally, I thought it was great. I just wish it would continue!

The last episode kind of...stunk. I couldn't tell if
Knives died or not
:?:

Here's the ten things I learned while watching Trigun:

(BEWARE THE SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
1) Vash was never taught that paper shredders are not toys.
2) I'm going to be a plant activist.
3) Wolfwood actually died of lung cancer.
4) Milly was the REAL Vash the Stampede.
5) Meryl wasn't in love with Vash at all. She loved Wolfwood.
6) Vash's secret desire is to be a dog.
7) Milly's ulterior motive was to kill Vash.
8) Knives is a Venus Flytrap.
9) As a child, Knives' favorite toy was the cork gun.
10) Vash STILL uses the cork gun.
I guess the list might have a few flaws, but that's because I taped all the episodes yet haven't seen them all...:eyeroll:

Dude,
He is SO alive. In the non-TV version, there are special credits at the end. They show Vash carrying an unconscious Knives to the town where Meryl and Milly are. Said girls then turn to see that he is in the distance. Vash then waves to them with a huge smile on his face. You don't carry a corpse across the desert to the house of your friends and smile and wave like it's the best day of your life. You just don't. Especially for Vash.
That list was really funny HoS. XD

<<Dude...>>
Is that what they were doing? I thought they were just giving the generic open-mouthed anime smile to the camera. In a way, though, it would be both the worst and best day of his life.

It is widely regarded as one of the biggest let downs of anime. That just goes to show how great the rest of the show is that people got so excited for the ending.
