People have a tendency to speculate, and if character designs are all they have to go on, they'll go on them. If you want to say something, you might as well use whatever slim evidence is available. Speculation at this early stage is hardly some kind of terrible crime against critical discourse.TheSubtleDoctor (post: 1483872) wrote:People should just watch the show and see, or, at the very least, wait for some concrete statements about it.
Sure, speculation is going to happen, and it's not an issue at all. I didn't mean to sound like I have a problem with anime theorizing. I was referring to people saying, flat out, that they aren't going to watch the show now because these designs mean that the content of the show will be a certain way. Expressing disappointment about the design is natural if you don't find it aesthetically pleasing, but dismissing the show at this stage seems a tad extreme. Of course, I am assuming that people are going to keep their word about not watching...Agloval (post: 1483885) wrote:People have a tendency to speculate, and if character designs are all they have to go on, they'll go on them. Anyone else think that that seems more Gaogaigar than Gundam (especially the launching and retrieval of the rifle)? Not that this is a bad thing in general, but it feels a bit off for Gundam.Agloval (post: 1484631) wrote:'Here's a PV for AGE.
