Still, it really felt like they were straining to fit everything they needed to into those 30 minutes. Several important points of the episode seemed like they didn't get a chance to be as potent as they could have been because they went by so fast.
I gotta ask, though: what did we miss at the ending? ...WAIT! DON'T TELL ME!!! ...Okay, do. NO, DON'T!!!!

*nod*
My main complaint is that they totally could've stretched this out for at least one or two more episodes....(Why is it 50 rather than 52? For the longest time I thought E7 was 52 episodes....^ ^]knew there was something weird about the series finale opening up with a close-up shot of a cigarette lighter. O_o )

I think Renton's "I CAN FLYYY!" was mainly meant to parallel the first episode. I haven't seen the first eppy in forever, but I heard that he screams that in eppy #1 too.

I also liked how...
Shiny new Nirvash had a purple eye and a blue eye after Renton and Eureka "became one". Nice touch right there.
Because if it was, then people would want MORE episodes, then MORE episodes, until finally you have an anime over 100 episodes that nobody can keep track of replete with filler, multiple story arcs, and no true character development. In other words, you would have...
INUYASHA!
Kitchan wrote: I TOLD YOU IT WAS A GIRLL! BWAHHAAA!!

Yeah, you told me it was a girl, but when I heard the voice I was expecting something more...girly! Nirvash sounds like she's in her 40's or something! Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you, but for the last couple of episodes, Eureka has referred to this 5,000 ton, 20 foot tall mechanical wonder as "Little One". I would've expected that the V/A would've matched that nickname!

I also found myself thinking during this last episode that, while Moondoggie's current V/A did a REALLY great job, Vic Mignona (Yep, I spelled it out, and my fingers are none the better for it!) would've did a slightly better job playing the surfer dude!

True, but I just would've wanted at least one or two more episodes to flesh the ending out a little more. If that made people want more...well, Bones doesn't have to listen to them.

I think it's interesting that Eureka and Anemone never physically encounter each other outside the Nirvashes. (Was that the correct plural? ^ ^ )

(Standby for another Star Trek reference!)

That IS very interesting! I'm reminded of Kirk and Khan on "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan". In that movie, Kirk and Khan never met each other face to face--they had their entire battle in their respective starships--Kirk on the Enterprise, Khan on the hijacked Reliant.

Oh, and don't worry about the grammar...to my knowledge there's only ONE person on this entire forum that would really care about that, and she's not around!

ROFL, I think it's hilarious that I randomly clicked on this thread out of curiosity to find this post. XDD My grammar senses must be equivalent to Spidey-Senses, or something. XDD

As for the question, I really can't say, since I don't know the context at all. So yeah, for now, make it up as you go along. XD

Uhh...I don't have anything else to say, I was just reading through and saw that. XDD Sooo, yeah, move along, move along...>_>

You and the entire viewing audience, my friend. We never find out! Though, if I were to put money on it, I would guess the baby would be a girl. But that's just my way of thinking--it's complicated!

You know, Eureka's wings look more and more natural each time I see them! ONLY Eureka can pull off that look! Kinda like "Angel Hippie Power" look or something!

i loved the ending. i thought it was really good but
i couldnt help but feel sorry for the kids b/c they wouldnt get to see their mom again
at least thats the way it looked to me

also thought i might leave this (from ANN)

Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block aired the 50th and final episode of Eureka 7 on April 29 with about four and a half minutes of footage cut—specifically, the opening monologue and all but the first few seconds of the episode's epilogue. The original version of the episode aired in Japan with production credits displayed during those scenes and without the regular opening and ending animation sequences. The full version of the episode was available a day earlier for twelve hours at Adult Swim Fix, the free online streaming service provided by the network.

So much for the "American Cowboys".

Would it be wishful thinking to hope that Adult Swim will reair the episode in it's original, uncut version? After all, they did the same with Big O when they accidently aired an earlier episode instead of it's final episode.

I think it should be worth noting that right after the ending credits for E7's last episode, a commercial for ATHF came up, and lasted about 5 minutes...about the same ammount of time cut from the last episode of E7.

UPDATE: DRY YOUR EYES E7 FANS! I have news from the ASMB (Adult Swim Message Boards):
Eureka will definitely re-air Saturday at 1 AM. We're looking into the possibility of replay on the Fix, but we may not be able to dueto rights restrictions. The re-broadcast of GITS will be pushedback by a week.

I think some of the most hard core of you (i.e. the fan subbers) might still have a few issues with the broadcast but we are bringing you thebest possible version we are allowed to show.

We're sorry to all the fans. I hope you guys know that we wouldnever intentionally screw up the finale to drive the ratingsdown. Even on April Fools this year, we showed the episodes twiceon the fix and broadcast them the next week.

You and everyone else! You can almost hear the collective cheer on the ASMB. Never underestimate the power of rabid romantic/action/comedy Anime fans!

But...I am curious about something...what "rights restrictions" would there be with reairing E7 on "The Fix"?

I was curious what little restrictions applied, so I was GOING to PM BrandMerrill about it but instead went right to the topic regarding the re-airing. and VOILLA!!!

Rejoicing may now commence.

I wonder if they are talking about copy right restrictions. Maybe they are not allowed to show those parts of the episode by the Japanese prodution company.
I have heard where certain anime can't use the orginial music from the Japanese verison.

I'm happy too...mostly because I may have accidently recorded over the first recording I made the other day!

BTW, did anyone else squeal happily when they heard "Sakura" being played during the "Renton Tranformation Sequence" towards the beginning of the episode?

Very nice touch (though I'm sure it packs even more of a punch when one sees the original version of the episode without the usual opening credits)

And MORE rejoicing that the voice of the people has been heard!!!

More than that, AS saw the dropping of the ratings:

They knew they crossed the line, but they didn't anticipate the backlash they got from at least 5000 viewers.

EDIT UPDATE: There's RUMOR on an Eureka Seven Message Board that a MOVIE is in the works. Keep in mind this is only a rumor, but hey, it's something!

Well, let that be a lesson to them!

And if they didn't want a backlash, they should knock us around so much

This has clearly been building up for a while

Oh yeah, agreed. Her voice was kinda reminded me of Tiptory in a way. Possibly because Nirvash, to me, sounded really old...a little too old to me, especially when you consider that earlier in the series, Eureka called Nirvash "this little one."

Speaking of, there were times throughout the series when I would confuse Cheza from Wolf's Rain with Eureka. Probably because they speak somewhat similar.

That would perhaps have been better. Although, after watching the subbed version of the ep. so I could see the epilogue, I think the English voice of Nirvash sounds very much like the Japanese voice, and neither voice sounded non-human at all. I thought it was kind of odd that Nirvash had a female voice though because I was so sure that at various times in the show Nirvash had been referred to by male pronouns...not that it really matters. ^^

At the very least, they could have run the voice through some sort of filter to distort it a bit.
