What do you guys think about Kakashi's voice? It got a lot better from the 3d episode to the 4th, in my opinion; much closer to the "I don't care" feeling from the japanese VA.

I'm more wondering about what the deal is with all that face paint.

Face paint? I am NOT totally confused by what you just said, but I'd be grateful if you'd clarify so that I can be re-unconfused.

Remember Kakashi has all that blue all over half his face so that it's hard to
see his actual face.

This epsiode, dub wise, was the besy. Naruto and Sakura VA's are improving with thier character each episode...some of Sakura's lines were great as well as Naruto.

Kakashi does seem rather strict but I figured out the reason. When we first meet him, he does act strict cause he needs to be when breaking in Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. I can't wait till the Zabuza Arc.

I think that though he's not quite as bored, he betrays more of the "This character is more intelligent than they appear" kind of thing instead of "wow, he's really, really bored". Which he has some of - just not as much.

Maybe we see it differently because you see him more as the "more intelligent than he seems" guy, and I see him more as the "bored guy who doesn't really care about anything and would rather be staring at the clouds". His voice just seemed a bit too upbeat is all.
Hopefully they'll keep "troublesome", and not turn it into another word.

Good episode, last night. Could`ve had more action but it was good either way.

I rather liked last night's episode, and thought it had plenty of action. Though I knew from the start that
Kakashi wanted Sakura and Sasuke to give Naruto some food. It makes me wonder how anyone could have failed his tests. He just got finished lecturing about teamwork, and then he says Naruto isn't allowed to eat? Boy, that's an obvious trick...
And I figured they were going to leave Naruto tied up at the end. Ah well. XD

The series will get more action quite soon once it picks up into the first story arc.

Personally, I want the Zabuza Arc to be done with as soon as possible. It was too drawn out for my taste (in the manga but even more so in the anime). My hope is that Naruto doesn't lose viewers due to it, before the series gets really interesting.

As to kaemmerite's spoiler: In the manga Kakashi spends more time stressing that they need to follow orders and not give Naruto food. The trick seems less obvious, overall. That may not appease you, but it does offer some degree of explanation.

I found it a bit funny that they go through all that work and then what Kakashi really wanted them to do was to learn to work together as a team which is why
all of his other students failed.

For a while, I decided I was going to stick on just reasing the Zabuza Arc (Haku and Zabuza being one of my most favorite villain characters). I however....got seduced (lack of a better word) into the later chapters -_-;;;

But I still do treasure the Zabuza Arc as something special. Though sometimes...I do wish that it didnt occur that early in the series. It hardly connects with the later chapters/episodes and just almost seems like a stand-alone arc. As characters and an arc in general, it could of been so much more then it already was.

In general I think of the Zabuza arc as the formative arc. Characters come into their own, elements like the Nine-Tailed Fox are reintroduced and some of the basic questions are answered (Sasuke, primarily). Though I can understand you wanting it to be later, I think that commercially the series needed the arc to establish a base from which it could move on to larger things.

Yeah I can see where you're getting at. That does make alot of sense to do it that way. I guess it was just a story for people to get used to the characters.

How long until that arc rolls in? Is the action good for it? Is Zabuza a good guy? I must know.

EDIT: Well it appears obvious he isn`t. Looks at screenshots. Cool.

Yes. The action in the zabuza arc, the way that it develops sakura as a chakra control freak and displays Kakashi's thoughts about naruto and sasuke, the way that it develops the nine-tailed fox, and the way that Zazuba and Haku develop naruto's "way of the ninja" - (how could you forget that!) are all pivotal (and spectacular, especially with haku's bloodline limit) scenes as well as being very enjoyable to watch.

OH MY FREAKIN GOSH!!!

Steven Jay Blum....plays a freakin awesome Zabuza. I got chills alone from his voice. Scracth Crispin Freemen doing Zabuza's voice, Steve Jay Blum was the best pick for the character.

I caught like the...last 5 minutes of the episode. So I did get to see them leave the blood on Naruto's hand. I however did not get to see the Demon Brothers fight nor hear Tazuna's VA who I was looking foward to (since Sparky Thorton is voicing him...who has done roles such as Saitou Hajime from Kenshin, Seta Noriyusa from Love Hina, and Jin from Samurai Champloo).

um. i like the fan base of that it's bringing in but i'm kinda sad it's not as good as the original anime. they should put it on adult swim. i don't like the fact of promoting nakedness is a good thing to little kids. and bad words too.
naruto's voice was close but i think i would like it higher and brattier. lol.
the best voice was konomaru's babysitter. i actually laughed and enjoyed that part. hm, it sounded like James from pokemon *scratches head*

Eh, I think this has been discussed before...and the consensus was this. Adult Swim was made for anime that was meant for older teen audiences, such as Cowboy Bebop and Kenshin. Naruto is a kid's show in Japan, more or less. Granted, there's blood and stuff, but that's a difference in societal standards as to what is appropriate for children and what isn't. The fact remains that it's considered a kid's show, and therefore isn't meant for Adult Swim.

and bad words too.

Uh...when did they say any bad words? o.O I'm pretty sure I would've remembered that...

Well, maybe he meant the fact that you want to say bad words when you hear "believe it!" for the nineteenth time this episode. XD

But, other than that little stretch of the imagination, I thought it was perfect for Toonami.

I loved Kakashi in last night's episode! He relates to the students differently now. The scene where they're all listening to Naruto talk about ramen was so funny.

If you notice in the end credits both Naruto and Zatch Bell are produced in North
America by Viz and not 4kids which probably explains why they're so much better.
What I enjoyed about Naruto yesterday was the way that he got riled by the guy they were supposed to guard and Kakashi had to restrain him from attacking him!
Interesting about the fact that his wound healed so quickly.I wonder if he's related to Wolverine!LOL!!!:)

It will be on later this week, Mr. Skywalker.

Actually, however, I did watch this episode by random chance (I had no real intention of watching TV, but I happened to see the opening and decided to watch). This recent episode is one of the better of the series, in my mind. I enjoyed it all with the following exceptions:
The Demon Brothers change distances from their targets quite a bit.
Naruto's outbursts against Tazuna were pretty awkward with "kill" being "demolish." (However, Kakashi's voice actor did a good job with the following lines. I didn't really find it funny before, but his delivery made it work.)

I did like Zabuza's VA, and Tazuna's is also fine. It is highly interesting that he also did Jin, because that is a fairly large difference in voices.

If I recall, there was one serious graphical edit, in that they didn't actually show Naruto stabbing the kunai into his hand, but since they left the action in there it doesn't bother me.

That's addressed later on in the series. It's not really that much of a spoiler, but nonetheless, it's because of
the Kyuuba. It is the thing that makes him heal really fast. All of his wounds from a previous day are all cured after a night's sleep.
It`s good to ressurect a thread....ah!

I got my hands on the first Naruto manga and dang is it awesome. The anime added and took away alot of stuff, not in the appropriate content section, the spisode in general like when Naruto runs to go to the bathroom with his clones and they fight over who goes in first or when the woman slaps naruto in the face for saying the grandson of the Hokage looked like her when he transformed.

As far as appropriateness....more blood, worse language, and the clouds covering the sexy jutsu are "thinner".

Either way, Zabuza is sick excpet tthe battles in the past few episodes have been slightly boring. It`s so unrealistic. People don`t attack....stand still for a while.......talk....attack.... they just FIGHT!

To be fair, the manga is exactly the same in that respect, though since you can read at your own pace instead of waiting for the actors to speak the lines, it just SEEMS faster in the manga. They did just as much standing still and talking there as they did in the anime.
