Of course, life does not consist of things, and people are blessed just to get to see their favorite animes, but, sometimes, things are fun.
Do you have any anime-related item that is particularly precious to you? This can be anything. This can be a fanart. This can be a copy of a fanfiction... this can be a simple drawing of an anime character on a letter from a dear friend. It can even be your tapes or DVDs, or even your TV if you can only get your anime that way! I can be... that Pikachu keychain you got at KFC years ago! It can be Tenchi Muyo toilet paper! It can be anything you deem especially precious.
For me, it is a cosplay coat. I have several reasons for loving it so. First of all, it was made by an online friend of mine, so, it was made by a friend. Also, it is very well-made, and very nice. I traded a very nice piece of artwork for it as partial payment, and I was proud of the artwork I did (though the coat was more than worth it!). It was for my first serious cosplay. It holds memories of my very first (and thus far only) anime convention. And, what really ups it's value... I had it signed "To Stacey" (my real name) in Japanese, and autographed by the screenplay writer of the anime it is from (and my favorite anime, though Haibane Renmei may surpass it eventually).
My Vash coat. ^_^. I love it, I love it, I love it! I like to find excuses to wear it, though when I do, I am extremely careful with the panel upon which Youske Kuroda's autograph is. Though the autograph was done with fabric pens, I will not wash the coat, and therefore keep careful to keep it from becoming dirty at all. I really don't want that sig to wash out. (I also rinsed out the coat while I was at Anime Expo before I got it signed and the red bleed a lot. The coat is still a nice, bright red, but... I worry).
Here is a photograph of me modeling it:
I am aiming my "Angel Arm" at Knives
The feathers are an extra accessory that I added... no feathers are an actual part of the coat! I wanted to have an "Angel Arm" because I knew there'd be lots of Vashes at the con, and I wanted to be a touch unique.
I also have a volume of Trigun Maxium manga (volume 3) signed by Yasuhiro Nightow, and that is precious to me because it was a gift from my online boyfriend, but I find that the coat beats it out as my most precious anime-related item. It has many reasons for being special to me.
